"Smaller but nice hotel, room was pleasant and clean and beds comfy, staff helpful. Restaurant good and not too pricy. Pool and private beach were nice, though the beach furniture for rent filled up 90% of the beach. Our only disappointment was the location. My husband does not walk well, so I chose this hotel as being right on the beach; but it is on a bay without a good view of the main body of the gulf, and the surf is very tame. I liked the large public beach better but it was 15 minute walk up the road (husband didn't go)."

"Overall, we really enjoyed our time at Opal Sol. So much so that we’re already planning a trip back! Cleanly, modern, comfortable. Staff are all really nice and go out of your way to make your trip comfortable and enjoyable. Rooms are spacious and well designed. Food and bar by the pool is great. Love the access to sister property opal sands. It’s just a bridge walk away. I also like the market for quick coffee and breakfast sandwiches. I am already missing the property. A couple notes: —we found the overhead fan in our room challenging to work. It’s got a small switch panel and regardless of what we pressed we had issues with the fan turning off at different parts of the night. Thinking this might be an eco thing. —the handle on our patio door was loose and therefore couldn’t lock. Didn’t bother us but we also weren’t traveling with kids or valuables. —this is a family resort. There are more children than adults. We were looking for more of an adult vibe compared to other options in Clearwater but we were still met with constant splashing, squirt guns, kids overtaking the hot tub, etc etc. There are 2 pools next to each other. It might be nice to make one of them adults only. Or make the spa pool on the 3rd floor adults only. Either way, it didn’t ruin our trip but definitely more kids than we expected. "

"Another great Opal resort! The staff is fantastic at this specific (Clearwater) location at Opal Sand. Our rooms were made early in the day, everything was clean, food was great. Would love to come back!"
