One of the best breakfasts I ever had. Very friendly and attentive hosts. Charming and unique mansion with strong character. Peacefull and in the middle of nature. Weak WiFi

Such a beautifully appointed accomodation, the views were exceptional. Communication was excellent and we were able to check in 1 hour early. The house itself is stunning and very clean, it smelled amazing as soon as you walked in the door. Breakfast was excellent, all very fresh and a lovely setting. We had food prepared in the evening and the quality was exceptional. The wine pairing, olive oil, pastel del nata and the port on arrival were also excellent. We also joined Antonio on the...

Fantastic house, loads of history. Beautiful surroundings, lovely friendly hosts.

Such a beautiful hotel - incredible views, service and design. Manteigas the local town was also lovely for an afternoon mooch. The meal in the restaurant at night was excellent as was the breakfast. We stayed in one of the panorama rooms - highly recommended for the immersion in nature feel! The beds were very comfy - we loved it!

This is a great hotel. A conversion of a former convent which has been really well done. My only reservation was that I did not feel the dining experience was '5 star'. The food was fine, but not excellent, although this in no way spoiled our stay. The staff were lovely and could not be more helpful. A very interesting part of Portugal and a great place to stay.

Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff. Food was great in both the main restaurant and Schisto (tasting menu). Wine tasting at their vineyard was informative snd fun.

Cracking place to stay. Fantastic views and warm welcome from the owners.

A small bolt hole, 4 rooms as part of a working winery hidden well off the beaten track. Great staff & simple meals with local wine make it a relaxing place to stay. You can tour the vineyard and winery or simply relax by the pool but it’s definitely a place to recharge your batteries. The bed was comfortable, linen and towels good. Nice lavender toiletries provided and a fabulous marble bathroom which has given me some ideas ;) Be aware: the drive down to the house is a challenge (we did it...

Excellent

Fabulous hotel - almost Belmond but not quite. Rooms are excellent (must comfortable beds with down pillows). Breakfast is superb. Pool service a bit sporadic but overall the staff were wonderful.

We had an excellent overnight stay and it was hard to fault the hotel. Excellent in every way.

We had a little difficulty on arrival because there was a no entry sign across the road leading to the village and we went past it. We eventually found our way and had to swerve round the barrier. Had we been told about this, we would have found the village more easily. The once abandoned hilltop village has been sensitively restored and is now mainly reliant on tourism. Our house was typical - a large picture window with views over wooded hillsides, plenty of solid wooden beams and...

Our stay here was a real treat - the room was lovely, the estate and surrounding areas were stunning, and the staff counotnhave been more friendly or welckming.

The hotel is in the middle of it's own vineyard which makes a spectacular backdrop to the excellent facilities. The staff were so helpful and friendly, it really added to the excellent overall impression left by the hotel. The hotel has an exceptional restaurant serving their home grown produce and wine. We will return!

Outstanding!
