With new restrictions and safety precautions to adhere to, travel looks a bit different in this day and age. Here's what you need to know before you hop on that plane to Beaujolais:

• Investigate what, if any, restrictions or rules apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so check government advisories before booking.
• You're required to wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at security checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked by a TSA employee.

• If you're taking food through the security checkpoint, put it in a clear plastic bag and then into a screening bin. This reduces the likelihood that a TSA officer will need to touch your food container or carry-on bag for inspection.
