"Enjoyed the pool cabana was nice. The room'ms closet was almost as big as the bathroom and could have at least had a full size ironing board and a light. The vanity in the bathroom was almost non existant making its use difficult. The vent fan was on whenever the room was used and quite loud. The staff was very pleasant and the food was good and parking convenient. All told we would look for an upgraded room if we book again."

"Rooms were very clean. Staff was very helpful. The only thing I can say is they need a microwave in the room, but that’s it. Everything else the room was excellent. I love the fact that they have a restaurant right with the hotel so when we went, it rained at night but we had the option of the hotel restaurant that was nice. Food was excellent. Also at the restaurant and Service was also excellent workers were very attentive to our needs. Definitely would recommend this hotel. It is a 10 star to me."

"Let us begin with the “pros”: The hotel has a great location; and 24-hour front desk service Here are the “cons” - bear with me, they are a lot: - Very dirty. A historic hotel with a vintage vibe does not have to be dingy to highlight its charm. - No hot water. There is a sign to “let the water run for 1-2 minutes”. Yeah… more like 15 minutes to get relatively warm water. - No daily housekeeping (as advertised), even with door handle sign request. When asked, they said it was done after check out, which would be ok, if originally stated. They offered to come and make the room, but they never did. - Broken and dingy furniture. NOTHING in the room was as pictured in the website. See MY pictures to compare. - Entrance is extremely slippery when wet. No entrance carpet. - No parking, or valet - Front desk incompetence. People were nice, but completely ignorant of basic hospitality principles. Questions were answered vaguely, if at all. When we complained about the issues they said “management would get in touch with us”. I am still waiting for that call. - Read the descriptions carefully: Fees are for two guests. Additional guests pay extra. Not recommended for families, AT ALL. No amenities for children (no pool), and we had to put up with MJ smell in the hall all weekend. - Fun fact: Toiletries were from another hotel. What’s up with that?!"

"This property is an embarrassment to the Marriott brand. I booked one night here for my in-laws due to an emergency, and their experience was a nightmare. They are extremely loyal to Marriott and have held Ambassador Elite status for as long as I’ve known them. They both said this is the worst Marriott property they have ever stayed at. The central AC is not working in most of the rooms. Instead, you’re given a portable AC unit in the room. These units are exactly as noisy and disruptive as you would expect. And here’s the best part: the portable AC is vented through the window. Yes, that means your window is left open all night in the middle of Downtown St. Petersburg. Humidity is a problem, as is outside noise. I’ve lived in St Pete for 13 years. Downtown is always lively, both from nightlife and traffic. This property sits on 4th st, one of the main roads in the city. At 3:00 a.m., there will still be traffic. If this were a roadside motel charging by the hour, maybe this situation would make sense. But this is a Marriott. If a room isn’t up to Marriott standards, it shouldn’t be offered for booking. I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but at $394 per night, this one felt necessary. If management is willing to offer rooms in this condition without any warning or proactive accountability, it raises serious doubts about how they handle other issues guests might encounter.
