I stayed at the room with the terrace and I loved it. The room is spacious and has a big tub. The terrace had a chair and a sunbed. You can hear the people from the restaurant terrace on the same floor, you can see them and they can see you if you stand up and look down the street. Same goes to your neighbor. Overall, the room is nice, there’s no noise from the street once you close the terrace door. Would stay again.

The hotel is in a super location, walking distance to many sights and great eateries. There is a subway station entrance directly in front of the hotel. It’s also blocks away from a Hop On Hop Off Tour Bus stop, which is a great way to get an overview of Barcelona. The hotel staff is super friendly and very helpful. It was convenient to have breakfast on the rooftop, while enjoying the nice views. Even though the hotel is located between busy streets, the our room’s windows buffered the sounds. We would definitely stay at Sonder Casa Luz again.

Rooms clean but there is a disco and bar on the top floor and customs get in by tailgating hotel customers entering or leaving and then they can go anywhere in the hotel which feels very unsafe. Disco noisy. Room had no shower curtain was moved but clearly the room had not had a curtain for a long time as floor stained. Room fine but stairs, carpets and walls of the rest of the building really dirty and worn and wripped - more like a hostel than a hotel. Staff really helpful and location excellent.

The hotel was stunning.. the decor in itself was an experience.. beautiful art, finishes, and decor- it set the tone for an amazing trip. The rooftop restaurant had an amazing food and stunning view of the city. In fact it demonstrated the inspiration for one of Picasso’s works! The staff were knowledgeable, genuine, communicative, responsive and fascinating in their own right! Extreme gratitude for Ghiwa and Alejo whose love of the city was only second to their commitment to assuring a fabulous stay at the property..highly recommend!!

Sonder Casa Luz was an amazing place to stay for my first trip to Barcelona! It is well located and was walkable to many area attractions, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, and they offered great recommendations and held my luggage for me safely on my last day so that I could explore before flying out at 6. Would 100 percent recommend and stay again. Thank you!

Great location and good rooftop terrace bar, but disappointing overall. The listing on Expedia made it look and sound much nicer than it was in reality. Firstly, the room was listed as a “Deluxe room with courtyard view”. In reality, the room was small, dark and had a balcony that overlooked the rear and centre of the building which consisted of concrete walls, utility pipes and cables, air ducts and finished off with a blue tarpaulin at the bottom. Not my idea of a courtyard view. The bathroom had a smell of the drains that would come and go. The strip light above the shower cubicle had an accumulation of clumps of dust and could have done with a good clean up there. The queen bed had two single covers rather than one large cover which was odd. Finally, with the complimentary coffee, there was no milk which would have been welcomed. Overall, very disappointing for the price which is a shame because the location is excellent. The listing, especially describing the room as having a “courtyard view” is purposely deceitful in my opinion. We would not return and would look elsewhere if visiting Barcelona again.

The room with the rooftop terrace was beautiful and spacious. The staff were all very kind and helpful, even prioritizing to clean the room quickly so we could have an early arrival. The restaurant on the 6th floor rooftop was great and provided lovely views. Everything about this boutique exceeded our expectations. The location is just a 5 min walk from La Rambla, and close to all the great tapas bars as well. I highly recommend!

Stylish room in boutique hotel. Service from front desk to housekeeping excellent. Central to all parts of Barcelona. All transportation options to get around just outside the hotel. Airport bus shuttle for 7 Euro just a few blocks away. Had a great stay in a wonderful city.

This hotel was amazing! My husband and I stayed for 7 nights. Location is key!! Metro station was just steps away from hotel. Paseo de Gracia and many other areas were about 15 minutes away - walking distance. Many places to eat around as well!!
