Lovely people and atmosphere. Highly recommend. It was our first time in Bar Harbor and when we return, we won’t want to look elsewhere to stay. We were incredibly happy with the comfort, the vibe, and bonus - the food is top notch.

A great place to stay in Bar Harbor! A convenient place to stay around the walkable town. Also a convenient location as we hiked around Acadia National Park. The room was clean & beautiful. The entire house & property are well maintained with everything you need. The breakfast & snacks were super tasty! The innkeeper, Chris, was super nice & hospitable. His recommendation to do the sandbar hike over to Bar Island at low tide was fun. He truly made our visit special. Thanks

Our stay at the Sand Bar Cottage was delightful. The space is adorable and the outdoor space with fire pits and individual heat lamps over tables on the covered porch made it cozy even with the cooler weather. Chris was very personable as were all the staff, making excellent recommendations and just overall good conversation. Breakfast was delicious and it was fun to meet and mingle with other guests. The location is great and I would not hesitate to stay here again if we find ourselves back in Bar Harbor.

Very cute property. Don’t skip breakfast it was soooo good. Staff was super kind and helpful. Only con is you can hear everything.. luckily we were so exhausted from hiking all day it didn’t bother us too much and we were easily able to fall back asleep. Would come back for sure.

Really enjoyed my stay. The location is excellent, we were able to take a short walk to dinner each night and it's about 1 block from the sandbar hike. The innkeepers at this property were the real stand out. They helped us pick hikes, gave restaurant recommendations and made us feel well cared for. I even saw them change the tire for two girls staying at the inn after their rental car company no showed. The main inn is beautiful and updated. We stayed in one of the smaller buildings outside the main inn, which seem less recently updated (more quaint than fancy) but offer a more private experience. They have a nice breakfast and set out delicious treats daily.

Cozy and convenient
We had a great stay at the Sand Bar Cottage Inn!! It was very cozy and comfortable. The breakfast and snacks everyday were delicious! We enjoyed sitting for a nice cup of tea every evening. The location was perfect for walking into town, and driving into Acadia. We will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic stay! The location is perfect and walkable. The room was very comfortable and the entire place was clean and beautifully decorated. They have a nice fire pit space outside. The food was outstanding and there were always delicious sweets available. The property manager, Chris, was just lovely to chat with and incredibly accommodating. We will definitely be returning.

Cozy, comfy Maine inn
This is a beautiful little inn right up the street from the heart of Bar Harbor and just a few minutes from the entrance to Acadia. My husband and I slept so well, the bed was wonderfully cozy and comfortable! And they offered a free, yummy morning breakfast. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay
Our stay at Sand Bar Cottage was memorable and fantastic. The location was perfect, with the ability to walk to all the local restaurants and shopping. The house has great character, and the room was spacious and updated. There was attention to detail on everything from the physical building to the level of service from the staff. An extra special thank you goes to Michelle for recommendations on restaurants and trails to hike, and of course to Chris who is an amazing innkeeper, with great insights into Bar Harbor and plenty of witty banter. Breakfast was delicious and the extra snacks were a nice touch. The grounds are well maintained and there is a firepit which made for great socializing in the evenings. Overall excellent experience and we would stay here anytime we are in Bar Harbor.

Perfect location. Nice clean. Friendly staff. Breakfast was great. Loved sitting outside on porch for breakfast. Had tea time when we arrived with lite snack. Would definitely go back. The proprietor and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in the Acadia cottage...the room was huge with a sitting area and a large bathroom. It also had a front porch we used everyday of our stay. The highlight was the breakfast and afternoon snack. I wish I had asked the chef for his recipes. We felt very taken care of. The location is awesome too. It is walkable to all of Bar Harbor and a short drive to Acadia. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Great Inn. Great Host. Great Breakfast.
We regularly go to Bar Harbor to hike the park. This time we stayed at the Sand Bar in a private cottage. The cottage was perfect for two people, and the location in town means no driving. The breakfasts are simply incredible. We were expecting typical hotel pick up fare, but they offer two choices each morning of very upscale and beautifully presented breakfast. There is also an afternoon tea with top line cakes to snack on and take on your hikes should you wish. And lastly Chris, the innkeeper, is easily the most charming and calm hotelier we have ever met. He makes you truly feel at home in his home. We will always return.

Great B&B perfect for Bar Harbor and Acadia NP
Very nice, updated Victorian house as Bed and Breakfast was perfect to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. The house was located close to downtown Bar Harbor with plenty of parking for guests of 19 rooms. The inn keeper, Chris, was very nice and helpful. The check in process was easy. Chris provided lots of great information on the best places to visit in Acadia and the best places to get some amazing seafood.

Modern, great location, food, and hospitality
We were looking for a modernized B&B experience with good food and easy location to shop and enter the park. Sand Bar met these needs and exceeded them. Chris and Moriah were phenomenal hosts and the pastries at tea time are so good that it's actually very hard to only eat one. The room is spotlessly clean and modern, and the B&B is about 3 minutes walk to the restaurants and shopping downtown. Would recommend highly.
