Adorable retro hotel, i would recommend you stay here if you love a homey character vibe :) excellent customer service from the staff. worked with us patiently as our travel time was delayed. felt safe and cozy. loved astoria and this hotel is wonderful!!! also the goonies house is only 6 minutes from here!

GREAT FOR SOUND SLEEPERS Our check in process was smooth and friendly. The location of the hotel was also convenient with plenty of street parking in the neighborhood. However, the owners need to be introduced to the wonders of double glazing. Sleeping in was like sleeping in the middle of a street! Mainly because Highway 101 passes right through the middle of town so the hotel is pretty much adjacent to the highway. Given that most semi traffic occurs in the night, it meant we felt and heard trucks all night. If that weren't enough, the floorboards creaked like those on an 18th century schooner. We thought this was perhaps intentional to fit in with the nautical theme of the hotel. I guess the noise issues are not unknown to the management given that they thoughtfully provide earplugs in room. The 'television' was a 14 inch computer monitor hanging off a wall. Guess management needs to be informed about how cheap televisions have gotten. They have a couple of mirrors solidly fastened to the wall facing the bed. We were quite creeped out by this so we tried lifting it a bit to check for cameras but it wouldn't budge. Again ...creepy! The property is a solid 2 star with 3 star pricing. Okay in a pinch, but not so okay if you are envisioning lazy mornings and lying in bed watching the rain.

The property is old but well maintained. We enjoyed being in the heart of town, it was a unique experience and recommend it. The noise can be an issue, just so youvare aware.

Wonderful hotel, very clean, and super cute room. Well decorated, spacious lobby area with books and games for guests to relax by the fire. We will definitely be staying here the next time we're in Astoria!

I loved everything about my stay. Adorable, cool building and interesting decor. Would absolutely stay again. (One note - check on soap levels maybe a little more frequently for shared bathrooms and showers)

Reasonable place for the price
The hotel was pretty good. A very old, historic hotel with a bathroom down the hall. I had not realized that when I booked but it was fine and I had a sink in my room. Room was a bit hot even though it was cool outside. I did not want the window open because I had a little dog and there were no screens on the window. Desk person was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend updating the TV situation. TV was ok but I had 2 remotes. One to set it up and another to change channels. I followed the instruction sheet they provided and could not get it to work. I finally had the desk person come up and set it up for me and I did not turn it off until I checked out, to make sure I would not have any more troubles with it. TV channels were very limited. I wanted to watch the usual ABC, CBS, NBC etc.. and could not get it on the TV. I had a migraine Sunday and wanted to relax and watch football but FOX was not provided. Saturday night a domestic dispute broke out and since there is no overnight staff, it went on for quite some time. I tried calling the hotel and got no answer. I gave it another 30 minutes to call police and it turned out the manager had been called and brought the police. Not the hotels fault though and the manager did address it when called. I would stay again given the room temp and tv were the only issues the hotel could control.

There was no restraunt. I stayed 1 of the 2 days that were booked. The shared bathroom was a turn off after the 1st night.The TV looked like a hospital television and couldn't get anything on it. The pictures are very decieving in the description of this hotel.

Historic Hotel in Historic Astoria
Old-school hotel with contemporary conveniences. I personally love being in a historic hotel with small rooms, but it's not for everyone. The sociability of a hostel with the privacy of a hotel.

Very cute room but needs to be updated. No coffee machine, no place to hang towels in bathroom, dust everywhere. Dust on the mirror even and the desk fan. For having no AC I would have hoped for a bigger cleaner fan option. Couldn’t get the tv to work. I bucket to put ice in had no liner & was disgusting.

It is a comfortable old building kept in good shape. People showing off loud vehicles late at night on Commercial Ave was disruptive ... it was not the hotel's fault but it diminished the attraction to Astoria and we would look for something else before staying there again. Price was quite high for what you get.

We got what we paid for. Made the choice to use cheap accommodations, so I can’t be too mad about old fixtures, less cleanliness, and less service. Was an okay stay for a night.

this is my second time staying at Selina Commodore. Both my wife and myself enjoy staying there. It is perfectly located downtown with an incredible amount food and drink options with in 2 blocks, and the water front is right across the street. It's not super fancy with lots of amenities. but the room we had was spacious and comfortable. The place is very affordable with a really friendly staff. Plus they allow dogs.

The location of the Hotel was great. Very convenient and everything is within walking distance. Very cute old building and some services such as DVD rental for the tiny TV in your room. I thought I reserved the standard room, but found out that the bathroom and shower is shared. That was a little inconvenient at night and did not like it as we pay $300 per night and didn’t have own. Our room also didn’t have AC, and we didn’t want to leave windows open, so just fan was uncomfortable. No fridge and there was no ice maker on the floor so we couldn’t keep our drink cold. I think they kept their old style of the hotel and service. Front desk staff is very kind and nice but they are only available 8 am- 8pm. Made me a little worry in case of emergency. Coming from city, street parking was little worry some, but the town felt safe and people in Astoria are genuinely nice and seems happy. Great weekend trip in Astoria and learned history a lot!
