It was cool that a degree of recognition was kept from the building having been an iconic department store in NC. The room was large with seating area. The bathroom was large with separation for dual use. Had ambience and a comfortable feel.

The hotel has tons of character and the room is giant. The bathroom was somewhat dated but I felt it added to the charm given the hotel history. I got a massage at the spa which was very nice. The hotel is central to everything downtown, a definite plus. I’d stay here again when visiting Asheville.

The room was just a little weird? Very big but not very cozy. Floor was dirty. Did not feel very luxurious considering the price. Staff were lovely, but also having only one valet at check-in time on a Saturday is unacceptable. Overall just okay. The staff were the deciding factor honestly. Great location but would not book again considering the price.
