Thank you for your visit to the Arniston Spa Hotel
My default hotel when we stay somewhere in South Africa.
Breakfast was just as excellent as always and the staff friendly and sufficient.
The only little detail that was different, on both nights the turndown service was only putting chocolate on the bed and not tidying up like they always did or refilling the tea, coffee etc. Not a big deal just something that was lacking this time.
It would have been nice if the staff had let us know about n the numerous communications prior to our arrival that the road was blocked off with a large side that said “Road Closed” that we needed to drive around. Knowing we were coming in late and in the dark- I don’t know why they didn’t share this. We spoke in the phone twice before we got to that sign and had to call again to ask about it. It felt very unsafe in the neighborhood we had to go through to get there.
This was an appreciation breakaway for our parents

We've visited this hotel so many times and it's really my default when I want to have a decent getaway.
Breakfast is delicious and plentiful, turndown service, friendly staff and amazing food. Really value for money, so will keep returning to this beautiful hotel.
The hotel was excellent overall, lovely rooms with beautiful sea view, also spacious. The staff everywhere were super friendly. The food was excellent.

Excellent position with a sea view. Room clean and had every thing you need. Restaurant and bistro had good choice of food. But sometimes fish dry and overcooked and usually a long wait for the food to arrive. Oysters were excellent.
Terrible. We were in room 106 and it was not functional. The front door didn't lock. The electrical would turn off and some lights might go on and off. The toilet had a siren sound when you flushed. We told the manager about this and he and his crew were in our room for an hour, unable to fix the electrical problems. They were very nice and responsive, but unable to fix the problem. They said they would let the manger know and the manager would contact us in the morning. We met him as we were leaving and he was surprised and offered nothing but continued apologies.
