Tourist Guide
Arenzano
A holiday in Arenzano is an excellent opportunity to discover one of the major tourist destinations on the western Ligurian Riviera.

The clear sea, mild climate and beautiful architecture of this region, together with the typically picturesque landscape of Liguria, are its main attractions. The old town winds through the wide Via Bocca, which follows the course of the old railway that ran through here until the end of the 1960s. Following on from here are Piazza Nastrè, where the wash houses once stood, and Piazza Colombo, with its characteristic well.

The port of Arenzano, sheltered by Cape San Martino, the famous pine forest, the historic villas and sports facilities are just a few of the attractions you can visit and explore during your stay. For nature lovers, behind the village there are the mountains of the Ligurian Apennines covered by lush Mediterranean vegetation. We are in the territory of the Beigua Park, which spans a wide area covering several municipalities in the provinces of Genoa and Savona. Located on the Costa Boera, the Saracen Tower was erected after the infamous plundering of Arenzano in the sixteenth century. The tower stands at a point that provides an extensive view of the open sea, ideally placed to spot enemies approaching.

A unique feature of Arenzano, commissioned by the Liguria Region for the purpose of promoting the marine environment, is the underwater gym, which has become a centre of excellence. The establishment is located in the waters off the marina, and as well as being an innovative underwater sports facility in a natural environment - unique in Italy - it contributes to repopulating the sea area, enhancing the marine habitat.

During your holidays in Arenzano, don’t miss a stop at the Villa Negrotto Cambiaso Park, one of the symbols - if not the main symbol - of Arenzano. The park is a true kaleidoscope of glass and iron works in perfect nineteenth-century English style, like a casket of priceless jewels. Beyond its unquestionable architectural and compositional value, the garden is striking because of the quantity and variety of plants. The territory is part of the Beigua Regional Park, a stopping-off place for migratory species, which is why the garden also houses peacocks and other species of birds. A visit to the Garden should be followed by a tour of the Villa, now the Town Hall, a very elegant building commissioned by Marchesa Luisa Sauli Pallavicino in 1880.

Finally, for science lovers, the "Muvita Science Centre" on Via Marconi is an innovative scientific entertainment centre, the first in Italy entirely dedicated to the relationship between man, energy and climate. These and many other attractions await you: don’t waste any more time, check out our holiday packages to Arenzano today.

Check tripadvisor et al for dining recommendations. It’s all expensive in Italy but we found good quality at acceptable rates this way.

The whole area as well as the property was in dire need of renovation. Quite disappointing in every way.
