"The pictures of the interior of the hotel convey stateliness, but this is not a 4-star boutique hotel. It is an ageing property. Not shabby, but just old. "Benedette at reception was wonderful, and checked us in for our beautiful room. There is a garden courtyard in the back where you can relax and have a nice meal. We parked right in front. The hotel is a short walk to the entrance to the historic part of Florence. It is next door to the Boboli Gardens too. Each day we walked or took a taxi in to the central part of Florence where there is much to see and do. At night we walked back to the hotel. This is a superb place to stay!"

"This is a stunning hotel with the most beautiful gardens and views. The quirky original elevator takes you back in time. The staff are very friendly & the breakfast was great. There is a shuttle bus service to & from the city gates as well as the view point at Michelangelo square, which we used several times during our week long stay. It’s a great place for people wanting to relax when not exploring the surrounding countryside. But not great for children. Highly recommend L "
