Beautiful hotel with stunning rooms and real sense of luxury. A unique and secluded location set in private reserve; with added advantage of having hosts nearby for attention and customer service. We arrived in the early evening to find a welcome fire/bbq already lit...such a kind gesture! Annie was on-hand to give details of road closures, shopping advice; general comfort chats. The surrounding garden was a delight for bird-lovers; attention to detail in the accommodation perfect combination of lowkey and luxury.

Wonderful place. We had an absolutely amazing stay, from start to finish. Saw every kind of animal and the guides and staff could not be faulted. The food was incredible as well, and nothing was too much trouble.

Stay was fine, just noise of drums beating that woke me up on both nights.

My fiancé and I stayed for 2 nights at Elephant Plains and loved every minute. As I have never loved nature, I was skeptical and restricted the stay to 2 nights, but have left with khaki fever thanks to the safari guide (Matt) and tracker (Dumi). Absolutely incredible stay! Had a phenomenal guide, KK, who was excellent as a spotter, guide and genuinely nice and kind. All the staff were helpful and friendly, a pleasure to be around. First night was a resounding success with a “bush braai” in the boma. Spectacular welcome to the reserve. Thanks to all there for a truly memorable trip!

From check in to check out this was a fabulous stay. Food was amazing and served in the wonderful Boma area. Devin as host was great, incredibly knowledgeable about the local fauna and flora and also great with ideas for local trips. Brilliant morning walk before moving on. We had 2 nights here chilling before headinginto kruger and would recommend it to anyone.

Real bush experience can spot leopards relatively easily, lovely options for activities in terms of game drives in other private reserves and activities like star gazing tours. Lovely place, lovely staff and the owner goes out of her way to accommodate all requirements.

We stayed here for our honeymoon. Words cannot describe how we feel about Kapama River Lodge. This place is unbelievable. I’ve stayed at many 5* hotels, but this lodge is far more superior than any of them. We loved our stay at Mantobeni. The whole experience was very special and unique. Our tent was comfortable and atmospheric and the food excellent. We loved the drives each day and saw some incredible animals and birds. Special shout-out to Brilliant, our guide. He was very knowledge and kind.

Amazing experience. Staff were very hospitable. The game drives were also really cool. Our ranger, Daniel, went above and beyond to ensure that we saw all the animals on our list. Overall great experience.

Well designed tents with very comfortable beds. Showers worked fine, solar powered lighting was just lovely. We were there in August - very cold at night (need wholly hats & gloves, especially for the early morning safari). Surrounded by the bush, just on the other side of the fence from the reserve. Staff very friendly. Patrick the safari guide was great - very knowledgable and professional. Highly recommended.
