Since 1955, when Walt Disney created Disneyland in Anaheim as a magical spot for parents and children to have fun together, Anaheim has become a world standard for entertainment, spawning Disney resorts around the world. Bring the family here for theme park action and much more.
Walt Disney’s original theme park is now known as Disneyland® Park. The Bavarian-style castle of the Magical Kingdom draws visitors in for a day of sights, food and fun. Ride in a teacup or a runaway train and enjoy the animatronics of the original Pirates of the Caribbean ride. While the park has numerous roller coasters and thrill rides, many of the more than 50 attractions are classified as slow rides, great for family members from the very young to seniors. Bring young kids to meet costumed characters, from Mickey Mouse to Star Wars Jedi. Enjoy the daily Disney parade and stay till dark for fireworks.
Just south of Disneyland Park is Disney California Adventure® Park with a Southern California theme. Ride on bumper cars and spinning swings, play at the midway games and take a drawing class at Animation Academy. Look for bears along the Grizzly River Run whitewater raft ride.
Downtown Disney® District is an open shopping area with free access outside the park. Select from 15 places to stop for a meal or snack and many shopping locations. Stay in a spa hotel next to the Disney grounds or arrive by car or bus from your Anaheim accommodations.
Attractions continue beyond Disney locations. Visit the Anaheim Packing District downtown for food and entertainment. See the neighborhood’s restored early 20th-century buildings and enjoy delicious food, as well as live music on the weekends, at the Packing House.
Watch major league baseball at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, which has hosted the Angels since 1966. The Anaheim Ducks NHL hockey team is named after a Disney film, The Mighty Ducks. Cheer them on at the nearby Honda Center or visit the site for concerts ranging from OneRepublic to Pitbull.
