Thanks for your review, nice to hear you like the hostel. It does get busy at weekends so sorry if there was too much noise. We do full clean of the wash room during the day but sparkles clean when we are open during the morning and evening so sorry if you found them not to standard during your stay.

Thank you for your review. Completely understand your disappointment that we can't open all of our social spaces - a government order, not a YHA one. Hopefully you enjoyed using us a safe and secure base from which to explore the beautiful surroundings.

Thanks for your review Jayne. YHA's enjoy beautiful locations and buildings, sometimes, because of this, the rooms are not a corporate spec, and can be a bit quirky and bespoke. Hope that doesn't put you off from discovering more Hostels in terrific places!

Hi Chris, thank you for taking the time to review us here at YHA Hawkshead. I am sorry you had a disturbed sleep during your stay. Whilst we cannot control the time guests go to bed, we are hoping to improve the soundproofing between floors this winter to address this issue.

Thanks for taking time to review us Greg. Pleased you enjoyed the location. Our rooms do vary in size due to the nature of the building, an extraordinary regency house with courtyard area and adaptations from its original use have a slight impact on the dimensions of some of our rooms.

Thank you for your review. The Lakes in the Summer is a huge draw for many people and we're delighted to host so many folk wanting to take advantage of our stunning grounds and location. I do hope you informed a member of staff about your squeaky bed. We do checks, but sometimes a creak or two can slip us by!

Thanks for reviewing us! This grand old building which has so much character and history does mean that we are limited for sockets, but more than happy to offer an extension lead for your room. The walk to the village is about half an hour through some of the country's most beautiful and inspiring scenery!
