Beautiful hotel, staff was great. Restaurant not so good. Needs significant improvement in quality of food preparation. Overcooked (meat burnt on one side and then hidden by putting burnt side down on the plate side in one case), another pasta dish enter at the same meal was served luke warm, not fresh and hot as it should have Ben. This is a problem and should be addressed. Two porly cooked meals at the same sitting is not an accident. The bar and staff on the other hand were excellent.

Everything about The Barfield was top-notch. The service, the rooms, the restaurant and bar downstairs, and the valet parking. While it's on the more expensive side, you get what you pay for here. Fantastic experience! And check out Shi Lee's BBQ & Soul Food just a 1/2 mile from the hotel. Amazing soul food!

We stayed at The Barfield for the first time this past Sunday night to break up our drive from Dallas to Angel Fire, NM and really enjoyed the comfort and style of this beautiful hotel. Historical and absolute GORGEOUS!!! I couldn’t believe we got a room as nice as we did for the money! Everything in that place is thought out and time and money spent to make it unique.
