One night stay
Good night's sleep. Wifi not working, although I could connect to the router. These things happen and I'm sure if I'd have asked, the staff would reboot the router. Breakast - coffee was mega weak. I should have asked for anotjer pot. Yet again, im sure thatbit wouldn't have been any trouble. Staff - friendly and attentive.

Thank you for your review and comment. Not sure if it was internal or external problems with the Wi-Fi there has been work on the lines over the past few weeks and it has been dropping out and in! Sorry about the breakfast coffee - there is no excuse for weak coffee.

We stayed at this hotel for one night following a graduation. We were in room 6 and had difficulty finding the room as it was through a closed door and down a corridor with no lights on. The room we stayed in had a double bed and a single bed and was very spacious and the bathroom had both a shower and a bath. However the decoration was very outdated with brown, damp marks on the ceiling and the floor was peeling. The beds were very uncomfortable and we were able to feel each individual spring. The breakfast was good, lots of options and made to order. Staff were friendly.

Shabby & very tired building
Potentially a beautiful building but it’s very very scruffy . Bathroom was pretty nasty, ceiling cracked & looked as though it is about to cave in. Curtains are old & grubby, windows are Rowton & paintwork flaking everywhere. Ridiculously expensive for what is offered. Staff were excellent & they were the saving grace . !. It would seem the owner doesn’t really care about the condition of his property. The drive way is a pot holed liability for your cars suspension.

Thank you for your comments. I can assure you that the owner does care and is working around the building improving when and where they can. Prices, ended booked direct with the hotel, are considerably lower than when booked through an OTA!

Perfect night stay.
Everything we needed for a 1 night stay. The staff were very attentive, extremely helpful and made the stay enjoyable. The food was great and the prices very reasonable. A lovely garden area for families to enjoy and to soak up the sun. Although it could do with a little updating it was a very enjoyable stay.

What a wonderful stay!!!

Complaint on room 7’
I was given no 7 room which turned out to be one they avoid putting guests in unless the hotel is full. I had booked well in advance The hotel was not full and I advised when i booked my arrival time would be after 7pm I asked if oi would need to book a table they said no and would I be able to get food.yes. When I rang to say I had arrived in Alloa and was trying to get a taxi I asked could I have a meal was told kitchen was closed. So I asked for a sandwich even And told them I had been promised there would be food . So when I did arrive the chef cooked a very nice meal and the girls in the bar and reception very polite and helpful. Then I asked to go to My room I am a fit 76 year old fortunately and so after two lots of stairs carrying my case the young girl pointed to the room down a further 3 steps handing me the key. When I opened the noise of the boiler was immense the heating in the bedroom full on and I could not turn it down so they had opened the window prior to my arrival. The room had old furniture with marks on the dresser and not very inviting and this awful boiler noise went on all night. So by the morning I was exhausted and asked reception why I was in that room. She did not know said it was not normally let to guests unless hotel was full . The breakfast was absolutely delicious and I checked out feeling very cheated by the way I was treated and the dreadful room. So perhaps you could look into this for me Because the hotel itself is lovely.

Room 7 is our, only, budget room. It is the cheapest room in the hotel as it is near the fridge unit and does nor have a view on par with the rest of the rooms. Apart from that there are no issues with this room and it is used often. We are sorry that your stay did not meet your expectations and have taken your comments on board. The regulator on the radiator has been replaced and the hotel was full that night.

Nice hotel
Really nice old house -the decor reflects the age but it is clean and the rooms are big. Service was outstanding and had no issues with my dogs. I will be coming back after lockdown

Lovely hotel though a bit dated
Lovely hotel albeit a bit dated, bar area nice and recently done up, breakfast brilliant, made to order. Drive up to hotel could do with repairing otherwise very nice.

Highly recommend this hotel, clean, warm and frien
Strangely I was the only guest on Monday night, but was treated so well. Welcomed very warmly and asked if I needed anything. Room was warm, clean and i was upgraded without being asked, and the room was great size. Breakfast was fresh and well done, and made me feel again very welcome. I would return and recommend this to anyone in the area.
