Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya Resort & Spa - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"This was my first time staying at a Grand Sirenis hotel, and must say that their customer service is Top Notch. Their staff really go above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need. They have concierge staff, like Alfred, dedicated to Expedia guests and to make sure you are taken care of throughout your stay. They also have other concierges in each building, like Roberto in building 28, who make sure you are assisted at all times. The complex is big, but they have golf cart shuttles you can jump on to get to your room or to restaurants. Their Bellboys are simply great, but Carlos Arias and Jose Molina really stood out. The room was excellent. Their buffets (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) were delicious and there's food for all kinds of diets. I only tried their "Butcher" (meat restaurant) and "Oishii" (Asian fusion restaurant) and the cooking was just okay, but their staff was excellent and extremely accommodating. Daniel was in charge of the pool area and he did a great job entertaining guests. The Pool bar staff worked hard, but the guests were not generous with their tips...Guests need to be better at that. Sargassum has become a problem in the Caribbean sea during spring and summer, and this hotel's beach was greatly affected by it in 2026. Sargassum smells terrible and you can't use the beach, so keep that in mind when you plan your trip. Other then that, it was a wonderful experience and I will certainly be back."
"Buffet could have been better. Our family tried making reservations at the restaurants and were told that they no longer had reservations and they would not be able to accommodate all 16 of us to sit together even though we said we didn’t have to all sit together. The rooms are motion censored and at night the fans would turn off. Which was a bit inconvenient since the room temperature is controlled we really couldn’t adjust to make our room cooler. The hotel is family friendly the kids really enjoyed it. The staff were all friendly, Francisco the pool bartender was amazing. Over all nothing really bad just wished the food was better."
"I was here with my wife for a quick getaway in first week of July and the overall property was maintained well.
Rooms- we were offered Swim up rooms but we got the nearest oceanfront room in Villa 47 which was the 2 mins away from the main lobby, main pool , buffet, coffee shop, theatre. We did face AC issue during the second night of our stay and we were offered another room within the same building on a different floor within an hour. So that's a definite plus.
We found that to go through the different areas, they could use more signages as to where is what at intersections.
The quality of food was really good, be it the buffet or Ala- carte restaurants. The taste, we did not like the bland taste of majority of the food being served. Some items were undercooked to quickly cater to number of people, so only that is what was a negative in terms of food. but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights at the BPA."
Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"Had an amazing experience! Especially the staff were so helpful! Jorge- the manager- made our experience top notch! He was such a great man! Food was delicious! Could not use the beach due to algae season but pools were great! Spa was incredible- great service. The only thing we did not like is the their sales manager’s attitude! I think his name was Scott. He was the responsible person of the membership experience. Our concierge Monica was amazing! Always smiling and very helpful! Dont forget to bring your emergency medications (first aid stuff) or toiletries- because pharmacy is very very expensive!
I would probably try another Secret hotel and compare. Overall it was a great memory!"
"Right on the beach where we saw turtle's nesting! Plenty of room. Well functioning air conditioning. Great value for money. We really enjoyed our time here :-)"
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka’an - Adults Only - All Inclusive
10/10 Excellent
"I had a superb winter avoidance break at Bahia Principe. The pre booked transfer with Amstar worked perfectly both ways - just over an hour from Cancun. I opted for the shared transport but was the only passenger on both trips! Really good and competent drivers - if you’re unfamiliar with the locality this is a much better option than renting a car for yourself!
The room was fabulous, stocked minibar replenished daily, comfortable bed, clean and spacious shower room, small balcony to relax on and really efficient air con for the hot days.
The joy of the resort is the ability to jump into an electric shuttle bus and use any of the five connected resorts, each of which has its own vibe, architecture and restaurants.
Food in the buffet restaurants was the best I have ever experienced at an all inclusive resort. Huge range of options, everything was freshly made, well presented and tasted great.
The staff in the restaurants and bars were very hard working yet universally cheerful, polite and helpful.
Live evening entertainment in every resort was, er, entertaining! Mariachi (of course), rock band, ABBA tribute act, all really good stuff to get into the holiday spirit! A couple of acts made me wonder if it was karaoke night (it wasn’t) but that’s pretty much what you expect.
I was recovering from knee replacement surgery so I didn’t try any excursions. But I’m definitely coming back again when I can!
Book speciality restaurants before you arrive. They are great but busy."
"Our stay was amazing! We loved being right on the ocean, it was so relaxing. Guest services reached out to us to check in a couple of times and that made our trip even smoother, knowing they were there if we needed anything."
