Ailafushi Trip

Exceptional last-minute booking turned into one of my best decisions ever! Saud efficiently organized the seaplane, aligning with my schedule. Arrival was greeted with a refreshing drink, timely check-in, and assistance to my room. Opted for half board with a superior vista room featuring an outdoor shower, spacious balcony, and king-size bed. Thanks to being an Expedia gold member, the day after my birthday, a water villa upgrade became available, transforming my Maldivian experience. The villa was magical, with ocean waves lulling me to sleep and stunning sunrise views. For my birthday, a Stars and Sands dinner on the beach was breathtaking, with impeccable service from Rafiq and a surprise birthday cake. A spa massage with a good birthday discount was blissful. Taking advantage of the February wine discount, Rafiq delivered a bottle to my room. Dining experiences varied, with delicious options at both the buffet and Hiya restaurant. While Hiya lunches were pricey, the bar offered more affordable alternatives. Breakfast at Hiya, especially Rabeel's omelettes, was a highlight. Rafiq's exceptional service and Adi's friendly demeanor at the bars added to the experience. The pristine beach with designated sun loungers and clear turquoise ocean was perfect for snorkeling. Although the souvenir shop was pricey, the overall experience was paradise on earth. Summer Maldives provided a memorable trip I'm still talking about weeks later!

The resort and the staff were amazing. The executive chef Chau was a highlight of our trip. She was always so friendly, welcoming and up for a chat! The menu had a great variety and changed daily so you could always try something different. Location was perfect for snorkling, however, bring your own snorkles as they are not included and can add up very quickly over a few days. The suites are definitely worth it as they were amazing!

I’ve traveled to several different countries as a solo traveler, and I had higher expectations for Maldives. The service was decent. Some of the excursions were a little overpriced. There was a dirty mop smell near entrance where the mini bar was located. I thought housekeeping would have done something about the smell considering it was very strong. The chef at Tex Mex during the morning shift makes great food according to the menu. When I went back in the evening on my last day to purchase the same meal, the Nachos were completely different from what I had in the morning and it was difficult for me to finish the food (didn’t want to waste it). I did inform two staff members at the restaurant and the waiter asked if I wanted another one and I told her it would still come out the same because of the chef who’s cooking the meal. So all in all I paid for a meal I didn’t enjoy. This was the case for the items in the mini freezer, when I arrived I was told that the drinks in the freezer were complementary. When I went to grab a drink that turned out to be alcohol, I took a sip and it wasn’t good so I disposed the rest of the drink and I told the housekeeper this and I was still charged. In that same freezer I found something that appeared to look like mold on two of the alcohol bottles, and that could have contributed to the dirty mop smell I smelled around that area. I wasn’t aware that I was suppose to get VIP amenities during my stay, it sure didn’t feel like a VIP stay.

This was by far the best experience and resort that I’ve visited, for sure I’ll be back, amazing staff beautiful resort
