3-night stay to visit Addo Elephant Park

My family and I had a very comfortable 3-night stay at Happy Lands and visited Addo Elephant Park each day. On arrival, we were welcomed by the lovely host family to a very peaceful setting. The cottage patio looks onto beautiful gardens with mature trees. My husband wasn’t able to join us on this holiday, and we’ve already decided that we’d love to visit again to show him the farm.

A treasure in the middle of an orange/lemon farm!

We stayed two nights at this lovely place and it was great! Nita and Mika are generous people who try to make the best out of your time there. They welcomed us with homemade lemonade and we directly felt at home. The breakfast in the morning was great and so was the recommodation for a restaurant for dinner! Great ambiente, great room and great hosts, it was amazing!

Beautiful garden setting located on an operating Citrus farm. The owners are kind and welcoming and treated us like family. Our unit had a small kitchenette and a room attached with two twin beds for the kids. Fully equipped with everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious with homemade Jams and honey from the farm. We truly enjoyed our time here. It was also a great location in proximity to Addo Elephant National Park. We highly recommend a stay here

Sehr schönes Farmstay auf einer Citrusfarm. In einer halben Stunde ist man im Addo Elephant NP. Nach dem Tag im Addo NP kann man den Pool in der schönen Gartenanlage genießen.

Our stay at Happy Lands was amazing! Nita and her family are great hosts, we were welcomed warmly. The rooms are lovely and spaceous and they take good care of the whole place. The breakfast is amazing as well, with home made marmelades and honey of the farm. Definitely recommendable!

Immer eine Reise wert; einfach klasse.

Ein Vorgarten des Paradieses. Die Freundlichkeit, der tolle Service, der sehr schöne Garten lassen nichts zu wünschen übrig. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und reichlich. Hier kann man die Seele baumeln lassen. Eine geführte Safari in den Addo Park kann man auch erhalten. Wer hier meckert, hat es zuhause auch nicht besser.

Fantastischer Garten, sehr familiär und geborgen auf einem Landhaus inmitten von Obstplantagen. Mit freundlichen Hunden und Katzen, tolle Betten, sehr schön und ruhig gelegen, abseits der Hauptstraße, über 1,2 km gute unbefestigte Piste aber schnell erreichbar und sicher. Empfehle Spaziergang über die Plantage bis rauf zum Slipline-Turm (Adrenalin-Addo). Gehört dem Sohn der Familie. Toller Ausblick!

Sehr herzlich und gute Nähe zum Addo

Wir hatten zwei Nächte im Happy Lands gebucht um den Addo Park zu besuchen. Nita und Mike haben uns sehr herzlich begrüßt. Die Hunde sind sehr, sehr lieb. Das Anwesen gehört zur eigenen Zitrusfarm und hat einen schönen Garten. Die Zimmer sind geräumig und die Bäder modern. Das Frühstück ist gut. Man erreicht den Addo Park in ca. 15min mit dem Auto. Wir hatten einen schönen Aufenthalt und würden wieder kommen!

Bed&Breakfast in idyllischer Lage

Es war unsere erste Übernachtung und auch eine der schönsten. Nita & Mike waren sehr liebevolle Hosts. Das Frühstück wurde nach unseren Wünschen von Nita zubereitet und war wirklich sehr lecker. Guter Ausgangspunkt für den Addo. Wir machten auch einen kleine Spaziergang über die Zitrusfarm. Die Zufahrt ist zwar nicht geteert, aber mit unserem Toyota Corolla ohne Probleme zu befahren.

Gepflegte, schöne Anlage

Die Anlage befindet sich schön und einsam in mitten von Zitronenplantagen gelegen. Die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist top. Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Es kann optional ein Abendessen für 200 Zar unter freiem Himmel gebucht werden (im Adrenalin Addo). Preis & Leistung stimmt hier nicht ganz, es ist eine einfache Küche, aber für einen unkomplizierten Abend ok.

Home away from home

Anybody else who has travelled with kids though South Africa knows that booking family-sized accommodations that are safe, clean and affordable can be a challenge. Our stay at Happy Lands B&B was a welcome sanctuary on our route. Mike and Nita were wonderful hosts, and went out of their way to make this our best stay of our 3 week trip. Both of my kids said they would like to return here when they get a chance to return to the country. This was our family's first experience at a true B&B, and we hope future experiences will be as good as this. The rooms were very clean/comfortable and included the little things (such as a fridge, coffee and purified water) that make a stay just a little less stressful. The breakfast was excellent including fresh fruits from the farm and made to order eggs. The marmalade was so good, that my daughter made it her mission to make it all the way back home with a jar riding in her backpack. Thank you Mike and Nita for being such great hosts and we hope to visit again in the future!

Schönes B&B, aber keine Südafrikan. Herzlichkeit

Empfang eher nüchtern durch das Personal, die Gastfamilie haben wir in drei Tagen nicht einmal gesehen. Im Vergleich zu unseren vorherigen Aufenthalten in Südafrika sehr ernüchternd. Cottage war schön eingerichtet und sauber. Küchenzeile war sehr spartanisch. Regenwasser aus den Leitungen richt sehr unangenehm vor allem beim Duschen. Die zwei schönen Hunde haben leider bei jedem Geräusch gebellt vor allem in der Nacht. Frühstück war gut. Leider haben wir uns trotz der guten Bewertungen nicht wie im Paradies gefühlt. Faires B&B aber nichts besonderes.

Lovely place with extremely warm-hearted hosts

Fairly apart from the main road, you will find a couple of lovely cottages right on a - still operational - citrus farm with a long history and surrounded by nice gardens. Impossible to not feel welcome!

Beautiful space

Beautiful space, excellent breakfast. Wifi dropped often and the drain in our rooms shower did not drain well. Despite this would recommend to anyone. The hosts were lovely.
