"There was really little to recommend this property. There was an appalling smell in the bathroom (presumably from the drains) which permeated into the lounge area. The area wasn't very nice. It was up two flights of stairs which wasn't easy for me to cope with. There was an issue on check-in as the email that was sent an hour before did not correspond to the actions required for the parking space and we had to ring up about it. Someone else parked in our designated space on our final night...

Although my apartment was on the second floor, there was a lift (which was very welcome after the race). I was also able to check in to my apartment early and get settled in. "Great little apartment very close to tech offices near Cambridge Station, close to restaurants, down a (mostly) quiet side street. The main reason I didn't rate this overall excellent was that the Wifi was nearly unusable... and since I was there for business and was hoping to get some more work done in the evenings."

"We had a lovely short stay at the Gonville. The rooms were clean, well provisioned and had a good size for a couple. The location of the hotel couldn’t be more perfect for getting around central Cambridge! Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the bar very much. The only snag we had was our shower wouldn’t go warm, but the hotel team were quick to assure they would get that fixed straight away! A very lovely service and stay, we would definitely recommend and stay here again. "

Clean, comfortable and helpful

"Free upgrade to a deluxe room and couldn't resist using the roll-top bath! Very helpful reception, including guidance that I could just park on the road outside for free if leaving before 8am rather than paying the £30 fee for a car park a good walk away. Building is a bit of a warren so glad they showed me to my room. "

"Brilliant place. Really lovely, modern decor. Rooms were great. Breakfast was outstanding. The pool/sauna is small, but fine. Gym is also small but with good equipment. There’s a bus and train station within the grounds of the hotel, so super convenient for transport into the city. There’s also a co-op shop, inclusive of Costa, on site. We travelled with kids and they were well looked after by the hotel. Also saw a lot of dogs around the place"
