I booked this hotel simply because it was the only 5 star in San Sebastian, which was close to Mugaritz Restaurant, where I had booked a lunch surprise for my husbands birthday. The hotel, and indeed San Sebastian, turned out to be the stars of the trip. Mugaritz was lovely but this hotel is absolutely one of the best we have ever stayed in. Really nice hotel in a location handy for the Guggenheim- 10 min walk away. Hotel has a huge atrium and a cafebar and separate restaurant. Small pool on the 6th floor is open air plus male and female saunas for guests use. Bedroom was spacious and bathroom very nice. Air con worked well. Shopping centre on one side of hotel. The hotel is located right in the heart of Bilbao on a large crossroads, making easy access to attractions and the Guggenheim museum. We were lucky enough to be upgraded, the room was spacious, nice sized bathroom and sat over the entrance.
