Pleasant hotelPosted 09-Jun-2014
A pleasant hotel - the staff were friendly and the rooms clean. Well-situated for the centre of Leiden and not too far from the station. The breakfast was good.

OK Hotel in good location - just don't go by carPosted 17-May-2014 on Hotels.com
Overall we had an enjoyable 3 night stay using Leiden as a base to visit other parts of Holland. For this purpose Leiden is great as its in between Amsterdam, Delft, Gouda & Haarlem. The hotel was OK. The room was a little cramped and the wooden floor 'clacked' as the adhesive had dried out but was otherwise fine. Bed was comfy, shower was good and the reception staff were helpful. Breakfast was included in the rate and was good and plentiful. The big issue is car parking. There is nowhere to park in this town and if you do find a place that isn't reserved for residents then it is, for a small provincial town, truly outrageous. at around GBP11 per day and you have to pay from 09:00 to 21:00 so it is marginally cheaper to buy the 'day ticket'. Plus the machines only take maestro cards so you have to pay in coin which means obtaining and carting around pocketsful of cash. Otherwise Leiden is a nice place with some truly exceptional restaurants - just go by train!

Central location with a decent breakfastPosted 09-Oct-2013 on Hotels.com
I enjoyed my stay. The jacuzzi tub and shower were both delightful. The bed was comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was reasonable. The location is excellent. The only thing to caution is that it's right across the street from a church so the bell tolls did wake me up at 7am every morning.

Nice enough, nothing specialPosted 03-May-2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was nice enough, as it was quite new. The room was also very spacious, but the bathroom was small and there was no place to hang up the towels. The bathroom also smelled bad as it did not have adequate ventilation. Furthermore, although there was a kettle and free coffee/tea in the room, there was only decaf coffee - you had to pay for coffee with caffeine! Orange juice at breakfast was the best of any hotel ive stayed in.

Good location and interesting characterPosted 08-Jan-2013 on Hotels.com
The room was clean. It was perhaps a bit small, but for one night that was perfectly alright. The tea kettle in the room was very nice and the included breakfast offered lots of variety.

Hotel is in excellent location ,clean, large and friendly..not much atmosphere and does need updating..but I over booked by one night..and wasn't charged!..really good attitude..would definately go back..very unhassled and laid back attitude of a small privately run Dutch hotel.
