The content of your message does not surprise us, but it also interests us.We will not deny that Playa del Carmen is a city that loves to party, and also that the music from a bar is a nuisance for some nights.But we continue to be surprised that you say , the music 'made the bed shake' until 5 in the morning. Adding a little too much to an already clear explanation, sorry if we say so, doesn't help. Truth is, the venue which starts playing some nights, finished at 02.40 on all three evenings.Furthermore, and since the hotel, as has often happened since 1997, was full, we must mention that the other customers continued their holidays as planned: this, respecting once again your opinion at least about the impact of the nightlife: to explain how over the years , future customers will be able to read absolutely contrasting opinions regarding the same room, and all worthy of respect .But it is also true that not all visitors are the same. Even the other hotel chosen as the second option by you (far away from the town) would demonstrate once again that it is advisable for the customer who knows himself better than anyone else to do a good research before booking a space in a town like this which is known, I repeat, for the beach during the day and the liveliness at night.It seems right to me to let it be known that in reality you first asked us to keep the room, only changing to the low floor plan, because you wanted to return, but this didn't happen.We run a business : that, like an airline, has rates and policies that are fairly easy to read. Of course you received a polite message from Expedia, but at no time a refund statement, because this Agency follows the rules of the rates.We also hope that all of this is not a reaction to significant, if unintentional, damage to the roof ventilation system, for which you were asked to pay.But we think that above all, your comment will be able to be read by many people and everyone, reading one so negative, others excellent and others still average, will be able to decide how to design their holiday just as they wish, and for this we thank you .

Thank you for the visit !We charge a deposit for the bags ( 50 pesos / unit/ day ) , but it is not mandatory . In fact , our storage area is offered by an international app at three times the price to external clients , and we also look after those clients who cannot have any other option leaving their vacation rental . Walmart is close , and we usually don't charge for a request of dropping the bags and have breakfast or lust buys. But we did look after the luggage anyway , would you skip the flights if they charge for them also ?( it is an open question an makes sense, since hotels and flights share the same challenge : lower rates and get extra income for extra services to end the year with positive results . And our rates are really low !)

This review is linked to a special experience . We are surprised that this reseller publish the review of the clients , but maybe they know that they didn't stay at the hotel except few hours and moved ( as planned in advance) somewhere else and tried to get a refund ( this is the real clue in the review ) . No surprise when the shuttle service arrived but couldn't pick the visitors and nobody knew about them . A good communication with management and staff can solve a lot of issues but to tell a different story to avoid a charge is not a good strategy .The visit of Juaba , a young female racoon living nearby, has often motived other clients to smile and positive emotions , while there is no register of accidents linked to this or other original residents ( wildlife ) since 1997 , when we opened .The goal of reviews is to give tools to other visitors and we hope it will work together with our answer and other reports of satisfied clients .

We cannot understand very well the run down comment, however hotel despite some painting ( weather and birds are aggressive and we have to paint like every one else, more often than usual ) is in general well kept, while handcrafts additions are really almost new together with safety lightning and wifi antennas here and there : the style is named adobe and it is almost a classic in arquitecture, while strong colors and tall cactuses add to the ambiance . Inspection about gas tanks , electrical system and security signs are mandatory for every official hotel - no matter the size , and we passed all of them every year including early 2023 .Starting January 2023, it is forbidden to smoke everywhere in Mexico in Hotels, restaurants, beaches . It is not our rule .However, Manuel and his fellows are always on site , they close the door of the reception to protect and filter ( only registered guests are allowed in) : and he will open and close all the times you need . However and again, we have zero history of accidents .And yes as you can observe in our rules and policies, we do switch off the air conditioning , it helps the enviroment and you get a really low rate because we don't pay extremely high bills . It is a win win . A good a/c can then give he comfort you need in 10 minutes .We strongly suggest visitors to read terms and conditions : however if you are an expert traveler , you know that show and ID and a credit card are often asked at the check in . We do not keep IDs unless : you didn't fill the check in form , and/or you are using the safe ( charge at the market cost if you lose it is 2000 pesos not 600 pesos, and we would charge the replacement cost ) , and/or your credit card information is not available , and you get the basics ( key, control or the a/c , and/or key for the safe) . You can open a deposit or leave an ID . Maybe I would leave the decision to use the safe to any other guest since there are more pros than cons in using it . Please note we offer the option of leaving a valid ID because several clients suggested it , we would charge a deposit or ask for the card information ( a standard hotel process , pretty common worldwide ) , otherwise .As you write , no noise then while you visited , good !And please let us help other visitors with the correct information : there is no option to guest PETS at the Barrio Latino , while check in is open to ADULTS only .Thanks again for the opportunity to add few words to understand that carrying and extra ID can really easy the experience ( get everything , pay nothing extra ) , smoking is not allowed due to a Mexican Law and receptionist is on site 24/7 , but change plans if you travel with children or pets .

Thanks for your personal opinion, Robert : and for the visit.Maybe then a negative review should address the spot at the corner ( should underline not a nightclub no techno music and never till 4 , but also agree night sleepers should do deeper research about Playa del Carmen or Caribbean Mexico ) . We do get most of positive reviews because we do not generate noise, keep the hotel safe, and almost 89% of visitors do not classify music as an issue during their stay . But also have to say , our local government is working on it and is getting quiter earlier and more often , everywhere .

Thank you , it fits part of the description of the hotel . BUt .. was it what you were looking for? Our listings and pictures are accurate and try to explain the philosophy of Barrio Latino . Experience will be successful only if the visitor appreciate location , activities around ( Old town, beach, bars ) , and trust the Barrio like a clean safe spot to relax in between . If we put a restaurant or a spa ( we did it in the past ) our clients would go out anyway , and should open the doors to unregistered guests from outside . But our staff is always filtering ot keep garden , rooms and even wifi , limited to guests . Inside, we make the difference but in a very discrete way .

It might be easy to get water for the night ( a fridge to store drinks and food is avalaible in every unit ) , but we are also in a very central location and if you forget to fill the bottle, you may buy one ina very short walking distance. Thanks for the opportunity to share the information with future guests, since patable water is not listen among our services. We hope you could connect properly to the wifi and found the rooms clean and safe !

Thank you for your review , however oriented to a place outside of the Hotel and not linked to our services. We really hope that wifi , cleaning service and recepcion attention have been adecuated. Music is present in Playa del Carmen, yes it is : but we do not generate noise and bars are closing around midnight. If you visit close to New Years ', it is definetely a destination for party people, but year long we observe a balance of happy people visiting beaches, archeological sites, then dinining and dancing a little bit .

Thanks for mentioning it ! We are proud of keeping distance from the vibrating offer of the one bar of the block ( not a party street really because night life is north of Calle 4 ) . But I understand you had to mention it, since you wanted to let two unregistered guests to extend the party in the hotel at 3:20 AM , and our loyal co worker filtered the entrance to preserve every other client's sleep . Thanks again, we target easier clients and it is a good chance to underline it . On the other side, room offered in an european plan include a/c , wooden ceiling fan , safe, fridge, wifi, private bathroom, mayan toileteries, and even an hammock outside every room . Strict security and honest people ( forgot your smartphone, held it for you) . Happy and greatfull staff , thanks for the visit !
