Shamian Island Trip

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travelling now comes with a few extra challenges. Take note of these useful tips before hopping on your plane to Shamian Island:

• Investigate the rules and restrictions in both your destination and origin. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so check before you book.
• When you go through airport checkpoints, keep your face mask on. You will be required to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Passengers who refuse to wear a mask may face civil penalties and may also be escorted from the building.
• To avoid cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your pass directly to a TSA employee.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for screening.
• Put any personal items (like your phone and wallet) in your carry-on instead of a bin to reduce handling during screening.
• Transport all food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA officer will need to open your bag for inspection.
