Very nice hotel minutes away from Cubs Stadium

Posted 07-Apr-2014
We only stayed here one night at the end of our trip as we stayed in Sedona the other days. At this point in our trip, we were wanting to just sit back and relax after a few days of lots of hiking. This is a very new hotel with very comfortable and modern rooms/ammenities that made it easy to relax. There is a movie theatre behind the hotel that was a quick stroll away. We didnt have time to enjoy the pool, but it was a nice area that appeared to also have handicap access. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. In the morning, the breakfast is delicious, hot and has freshly cooked items such as egg sandwiches and French toast. . . there was something for everyone to enjoy, even kids. We picked this hotel because it looked very nice and was close to the Cubs spring training stadium. If we didn't have to catch a flight after the game, we could have walked to the game and save our money from parking at the stadium. Overall, we were very happy with our stay here.

Great place to stay!

Posted 01-Apr-2014
Pros: The young lady that checked us in was outstanding!!! Nice size rooms and lobby area was inviting.
Location: There is plenty of shopping, eating and a movie theater near by.
This was a quick trip and after reading other reviews I decided to book a room. I normally stay in higher category hotels, simply do to business travel bookings, however I just needed a room to sleep. This place exceeded my expectations and there are plenty of places to eat within 5 minutes. I suggest Famous Dave BBQ! I am scheduled to be back and will absolutely stay here again.

Great location, friendly staff

We came to Phoenix for a weekend vacation trip. The hotel is close to a park & ride, so we took the light rail downtown to watch the Suns basketball game-so much easier than driving! We aren't very familiar with Phoenix, and we found the hotel is close to shopping centers and restaurants, and easily accessible from the 202 and 101. Everyone at the hotel was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. We had 4 people in our room, and it was very spacious.

Hyatt Place Phoenix/Mesa

The room was clean an the staff was friendly and helpful. Construction going on around the hotel made it a little noisy, but we did not mind. It was still enjoyable to lay by the pool and read a book.

New, and clean.... but

Posted 14-Mar-2014
The hotel overall is very nice and fairly new. The reason I would not recommend it is because the bed was very uncomfortable. To the point that I had a hard time sleeping. Between that and an AC unit in the room that sounded like a semi truck driving through everytime it turned on it was a rough night. It's a shame because I was really happy with everything else.

Great Breakfast

Posted 10-Mar-2014
Pros: pool
Location: Bass Pro Shop. Shopping. Tempe town lake.
Kids loved the pool. Breakfast was great not just the typical junk. They also had good stuff like grapefruit and other fruit, real eggs on english muffin with canadian bacon and cheese, pancakes and also yogurt with alot of toppings to choose from, granola, dates, cherries.... very good. Room was large and nice.

Clean, friendly and convenient

Posted 10-Mar-2014
Pros: Location. We came out for Cubs' spring training. The hotel is minutes away from the park. No hotel is closer.
Location: The hotel is 20 minutes from downtown Scottsdale & Camelback Mountain. Also, plenty of dining options at Mesa River Walk, and the Tempe Market.
Our room (a king) was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The only negative thing I could say is that the bathroom was dimly lighted. The hotel staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. We took advantage of the free breakfast, I would suggest to get their early before the families with kids get there.

Lack of Compassion

Posted 03-Mar-2014
Pros: Beautiful hotel and facilities. Location.
Cons: Care for guests. Better security practices. No in room safes offered.
Location: A major shopping plaza and movie theater right next door. With baseball stadium
I arrived on Sunday 2/23 to a beautiful room. I was scheduled to attend classed until Friday. On Monday while I was in class my room was accessed and my credit cards and cash were missing from my suitcase. I immediately contacted the manager on duty and was told I would be contacted next day. Next Desk head housekeeper said "If that is really what happened to you I will have to research and let you know what we find out. This has never happened here." After being sidestepped from GM until Friday, I found GM in breakfast room and told him all I wanted was a little compassion. Not once did anyone tell me where I could find a bank or Western Union office or acknowledge the inconvenience I experienced while under their roof. Very sad.
