Cute for one night....but that's all!Posted 26-Mar-2014 on Hotels.com
It would have been fun for only one night. We stayed three. They advertise free WIFI...but it's not really true. You MUST stay in the lobby...and honestly, it was best and sometimes only obtainable if you sat smack dab next to the front desk. Yep, it was ridiculous. I only book accommodations with WIFI....and for this, I think I deserve some refund! There is also a 'club' below. Seriously? This is a hotel first, a club next. The last night we stayed we heard the boom boom all night long. We left at 6 am....and it was STILL going on. Would spend more money next visit and stay someplace else. (Oh yeah....they NEED some plug ins in the rooms! )

Interesting placePosted 07-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Enjoyed the Jail Hotel! Convenient location since short walk from train station (although must have good map since located in NW corner of narrow, brick lined street shopping center). Friendly staff. Can be a bit noisy. They were doing construction on second floor while I was there. Definitely good value for Lucerne.

Fantastic valuePosted 11-Oct-2013
Pros: The best thing about this hotel is the price, hands down.
Location: Location was perfect - 10 minute walk from the train station, and loads of shops and restaurants at the front door.
You're never going to get a hotel in the city centre of Lucerne for a better price. The room was quite small, but the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. If you're looking for any frills or extras this place isn't for you, but for a couple travelling on a budget it was absolutely perfect. Breakfast was great too!

It was terrible. The doors system failed and I could not open doors. Rude staff. Don't stay here

Good location. Frond desk people was very helpful. Room condition was poor but was clean enough. Wi-Fi was available in our room which was a big surprise even to the front desk people. Not too bad for the price and few days stay.

Jail HotelPosted 28-Aug-2013
Pros: It had history. The staff was very nice
Location: The town was beautiful. Restaurants along the water and the scenery was amazing. Switzerland was pricey. The Great Bar is a must visit
The pictures on the internet are better then the hotel in person. The people were friendly but the hotel was stuffy and the rooms were VERY small. I felt like I was in JAIL! The free internet access is only in the small hotel lobby and not all of our devices would get internet. Hotel was clean but the overall wasn't what I expected. The bar next door the Great Bar was AWESOME!

Great location, kind of creepy set upPosted 23-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
It really feels like a jail cell! The lobby is pretty cool/chic and has internet. The room door looked like a jail cell and inside was the same. The hotel used to be a jail, so I shouldn't have been surprised but it creeped me out to the point where I hung out in the lobby until I was sleepy enough to go to sleep. There is no AC so you have to open the window for any air...and so I spider came into my room. The furniture is new. Location was perfect. Walking distance to everything, including the train station. No elevator. Great breakfast.

hot, loud, and no waterPosted 19-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
sadly it was awful. Seems there was a pub crawl going on downstairs so the noise was loud all night long. The room was hot and stuffy so had to leave the window open, which barely helps anyways. Front desk couldn't even sell us drinking water or offer a drinking glass or washcloth. terrible.
