“Value for money”

Unique experience of staying in a 'jail'. All the members of the reception team are excellent and very very helpful. They value customer satisfaction which is apperent from their service. Room doesnt have much space and the worst part is the toilet which is very small and water logged after use. Room service is good and breakfast was very nice. overall value for money.

Amazing place, staying in a cell in the old prison. There is a Disco downstairs, but we did not use it, nor the sound was any trouble. Parking was not easy, but we survived. Local food resaurants are extremely expensive. We will stay there again.

“Bars not Mini Bars”

Does what it says on the can! You are staying in a converted (just) prison and will be in a small cell with bars on the windows and very rudimentary facilities - that is the point - it is an experience. The conversion is very well done and it is a fun place to spend a night or two - probably not more... Well worth trying (not sure we'll go back again) but certainly not for honeymooners! We stayed in a basic room some of the other suites appeared to be less basic.

“Interesting, unique experience....”

On first impression it is a fantastic experience. The room resembles a real jail cell though the room was spotless, great shower, non-squeaky bed (always a bonus!) and a very adequate buffet breakfast in the morning. The only complaint is the noise. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday night and got woken up at all hours of the night by other people in the hallways talking, walking or rattling the jail bars. I actually found the level of noise quite complexing as i would have thought the thickness of the door and walls would quell any commotion in the hallway...however that was definitely not the case!! I would hate to see what its like on the weekends. If you're a super heavy sleeper (or drinker) you'll love the experience!

Ok so your checking into the Jail hotel and you will be in a converted cell so really don't expect high end or anything, what you do get is a basic room that is ok to sleep and shower in there is not a TV or anything. also there is a club that is attached to the hotel which is open till 4am Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Switzerland now makes people smoke outside so if you are staying in the front of the hotel there will be noise till the early hours. This hotel is more for the party type than the quiet and reserved. overall it is a decent hotel in a good location.

No electric sockets in room. Uncomfortable beds and toilet/sink are separate.

tthis a shady hatel in the most undesireable part of lucerne. we choose this hotel as it was publicise as a 3 star. on reaching the hotel we discoverd it was actually an old jail which they had not even bothered to refurbish. prsented just like a jail. we literally drop our luggage and ran out at 11pm to hunt down another hotel waste of money and misguided. very angry!!!
