“Overnight stay”
My husband and I stayed overnight on the way to Dover Port to pick up a cruise. We had 2 bar snacks that were excellent value for money and breakfast the following morning. The room was 1st class as was the helpfulness of the staff. My husband left his medication at home so we enquired at the reception who swiftly put us in contact with a Dr's surgery where he was able to book in as a temporary patient and obtain a prescription..All in all this was a very comfortable overnight stay and would definitely return.
“Sevenoaks? Not quite, but convenient all the same.”
The hotel was easily accessible from the M20 with a decent sized car park. It isn't really easy to get there by public transport and certainly isn't close to Sevenoaks station. It advertises its address as Sevenoaks, which I suppose is just about true because of its post code, but is really closer to Maidstone. We chose it because it was convenient for Brands Hatch where we were going for a rally drive on the Sunday. Our room was quite big and contained an empty working fridge which was a definite plus as we could put our own drinks in it without having to be furtive about it! The bathroom was fine, shower water pressure a little low, but not enough to be a problem. Personally, I would have preferred a harder mattress, but I didn't ask for this at any time so have no reason to complain about it. The gym was very small and the changing rooms there were ok though unfortunately a few things were out of order such as the swimming costume wringing machine and sauna. The staff were very nice, friendly and professional. Breakfast was quite impressive, offering both hot and cold tables; good value for money. On the whole, an excellent weekend stay.
“Handy for the channel tunnel”
Breakfast was very busy and some of the fruit was not available until after we left. Had to wait a couple of times to be served at the bat as here was no one there and some other member of staff had to find the bar person. Over all the stay was good and would recommend the hotel.
“Fine for a short stay”
We were a large family staying for only 2 nights to visit extended family nearby. The hotel fit our needs well and having use of a swimming pool was a bonus. We did not spend much time at the hotel during the day but found it clean and generally quiet.
“Good, comfortable accommodation but high bar price”
The accommodation and service were good. However, we were shocked at the prices charged in the bar. I think £13 for a glass of wine and a gin and tonic is too high. We expect to pay that at a luxury hotel in London, but this was not comparable.
“Rudeness of the staffs”
When we checked in, the customer service who assisted us was not very helpful and was so rude.
“Good hotel”
On the whole the hotel was fine and the staff were friendly and helpful. The swimming pool and leisure facilities at 7am were very good. The only complaint I have was the extortionate rate guests have to pay for internet access. Most hotels I stay in provide it for nothing. £5 for an hour - shocking.
“Good value”
Good value for a family sized room - perfect for our needs as a stop off enroute to the Eurotunnel
“Beware the wedding party”
Sadly a loud wedding party was occurring while we were attempting a quiet evening meal. It would have been useful if the reception had mentioned we would be surrounded by loud wedding guests and marauding children when they suggested the restaurant. Had we been told we would have eaten elsewhere and the experience would have been somewhat better. That said, the food was good, though catering for a wedding was obviously stretching the kitchen staff as it was arriving in the makeshift dining room (I assume the actual dining room was being used for the wedding party) in a rather random fashion. The couple at the table next to ours received a less than sizzling fajita plate followed, some while later, by her Tortilla's! Again, that said, the staff waiting on were excellent and made the whole experience bearable; indeed, at times, humourous. Finally, having said I would not recommend this hotel, I would actually say that I would; but only with the strong proviso that the intended guest ask deep and probing questions about any events that may be running in the hotel at the time.
“One stop only”
Hotel needs serious refurbishment. Not only paintings and repayment. Facilities are dated, for example, mixed tap is not proper one. Bathroom in general, not good at all. Hotel says, "Kids eat free!", but we are not keen on frozen food. They only provide frozen food base. When we asked, they also serve for adult at bar for same food which we feel disappointed. No candle for sinner table. Good location, nice reception not room for stay. Breakfast is much better than dinner.
