The hotel itself was clean and comfortable. The reception staff didn't seem to want to be there, though. I didn't take the time to go and look at the "spa" facilities (or even dining area), because I was using the place as a base from which to leave and see the city, so I was somewhat disappointed that what I thought was going to be in or near historic Byzantium was actually grotty streets, peppered with dodgy "disco" bars, which the driver who dropped me there from the airport warned me to stay out of because of 'working girls' and their strong-armed enforcers. The streets were in poor condition and there were more car-parts retailers than anything worth seeing. Still, that's hardly the hotel's fault. The blue skies in the brochure pic were either photoshopped in or taken before everything else around it got built up (the latter being somewhat less likely). I booked a family room, which was purported to have two queensize beds in it, and be spacious enough to pull out a cotbed. What I got was a box room with essentially two single beds so close together as to be practially touching. The booking did state, however that queensize beds were not guaranteed. Nonetheless, the room was a lot smaller than the one pictured. Still, it was clean and comfortable and I was out of it til I felt the need to crash out again, so it was adequate in that respect.
