Well located hotel on a quiet street.
First visit to Istanbul. I really liked the hotel location and it's quiet street. The locals were very friendly. The hotel staff were equally as friendly and helpful. If you are on a budget and not fussed with frills then I do recommend this hotel. Thanks!

Pro: 1. Reasonable price 2. Very friendly and responsive staff 3. Spacious family room 4. very close to tourist attractions. Cons: 1. Old hotel furniture - the mattress caused me back pain for the whole week of stay (7 days!) I already prepaid for the hotel otherwise would definitely check out and find another hotel 2. Food in the neighbourhood is super expensive 3. They don't change towel by default everyday. You need to request if you prefer your towel to be cleaned daily. 4. The room cleaning is lousy. Somedays they don't empty my trash etc. 5. non-functional toilet's sink faucet. The water was splashing everywhere. I just do my washing and teeth brushing in the shower.

Great location, but a bit run down.
Hotel is in a great location, in Sultanahmet, where many of the main Istanbul attractions are located. Staff is great. Hotel is a bit rundown, noisy neighborhood. My room the first night had a strong stench, likely from a backed up sewer, but staff moved me to a different room the following day. Breakfast is so so, lots of cheeses but not much else.

Excellent value
Cheerful staff and good size room. Bathroom shower tiny and a lack of hot water only draw backs. Great location for sights and perfect if you want to visit Blue Mosque. Pleasant roof terrace too!

This hotel is CLOSED - Do not book here!
I made a booking via hotels.com, which was confirmed, and arrived at the hotel on May 1, 2015 to check in. Imagine my surprise to find a boarded up and locked building with nobody staffing it. The storekeeper across the street confirmed that the hotel has been closed, maybe for renovations, with no known date of reopening. Shame on you, hotels.com for listing available rooms at a facility that is not even open! Please remove this from your listings. Please also provide a viable option for your customers to contact your customer service team to report serious issues like this.

It was a building site (GREAT neighborhood)
We arrived at the hotel only to find that it was a building site due to "emergency renovations". We were moved to a different hotel (across the road). The hotel we were placed in was nice, clean, comfortable and in a GREAT area. I can't really rate the Maritime hotel, as we didn't stay there and it seemed like the hotel had been under renovation for a while.

Great, moderately priced hotel, conveniently located
We stayed 7 nights at Hotel Maritime in September. It proved to be a well run, moderately priced hotel. The hotel is situated on a quiet back street in the Sultanamet area. We had a pleasant view overlooking the street from our window. The room was small, but clean, and was a good value considering the price we paid. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The manager, (Marcel?) was really helpful and provided us with all the tourist information we could possibly use. Breakfast was fine. If we should return again to visit Istanbul, we would definitely consider this hotel.

Nice hotel with Excellent staff
I stayed here from 23rd Dec 2014 to 30th Dec 2014. The hotel is very close to all the main attractions in Sultanahmet. It is down the road from the little Hagia Sophia, and about a five minute walk from the blue mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi palace and the Tram stop. The Grand bazaar is about a 10 minute walk away or you can take the Tram and be there in a matter of minutes. The staff at the hotel are excellent especially Mr Pascal. He is very knowledgeable of the area and will give you ideas on planning your day and the best places to eat. He is also very helpful. The airlines lost our luggage and Mr Pascal was constantly on the phone with the airlines trying to find them. The rooms are clean and are tidied everyday with your basic amenities. Only downside to the room was not enough sockets to charge two phones at the same time and the walls are quite thin so you can hear noise and music from outside. But other than that it's excellent! The breakfast provided was a traditional Turkish breakfast. The cook was nice, she would cook custom made omelettes if you requested her too. Overall a very pleasant stay at Mari Time hotel, the staff were a pleasure and made our stay even more welcome :).

Friendly staff and great location
We stayed for four nights in September and enjoyed every minute. The staff were excellent and they made us feel very welcome. Rooms are not large but they have everything you need including tea and coffee, free WiFi and a hairdryer. Breakfast is continental with the usual bread, cheese, cold meats etc. A toaster would have been nice but it's a minor complaint. The location is excellent. It's 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque and in a quiet street so you don't get traffic noise. There are plenty of places to eat but I would recommend Cheers Lighthouse which is opposite the hotel.

Lovely little hotel close to all main attractions of Sultanahmet. Staff friendly, rooms great, bathrooms clean - what more could you ask for the price. Best of all they have family suites consisting of 2 rooms that we stayed in so everyone got their own space.

istanbul is fabulous!
Had a wonderful 7 night stay! Staff are very friendly and arranged airport shuttle, evenings out and information and advice. Loved it. Will definately recommend the hotel. Perfect location. Walking distance from all major attractions.

Great location, really friendly
Excellent hotel in a great location for all the major sights of Istanbul. Situated away from the major tourist roads in a lovely street with restaurants nearby (try the superb Karina Fish restaurant at the end of the street) and a shop for water, crisps, chocolate, wine and beer just opposite. Incredibly helpful staff especially Mehmet. Family room consisted of two rooms (double and twin plus a cot and two bathrooms) with corridor and one entrance.

Hotel in perfect Location to the main sites. 5 mins to the Blue mosque. Wifi worked well. Restraunts were very close. Shop was right outside the hotel. I found the selection of breakfast disappointing. It was the same choices every morning and a bit limited. For a family with young children, there was not much the children could do in their rooms or watch the TV as channels as they were all in Turkish. There was not roof view, as that section was closed off. On the plus side, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was perfect to many of the main sites. I would go to the hotel again, but not with young children.

Great Location near Sultanameht District
Right off of the back of the Blue Mosque, this tucked away hotel gives a no-frills very friendly stay to any wishing to be in the heart of Istanbul's OId City. Don't expect a great view, but what it lacks in scenery, it makes up for in location, and quiet in the middle of the night. It's within quick walking distance of the major sites, and it's safe as well. The rooms are ok in size, and don't offer much. However, they're comfortable, and breakfast is included each morning. the staff are very friendly, and the owner of the corner shop across the street is awesome.

In the middle
The Maritime is right in the middle of Sultanamhet. Just a couple of hundred yards away from the Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace. very central as everything is in walking distance. I enjoyed my time though on a return trip I might look elsewhere in the city for accommodation. The rooms are very small and relatively expensive for what you get. There are plenty of other alternatives around the area I would explore next time if I came here or I would probably go elsewhere in the city. Just too many tourists (as in hordes) in this area and all is geared towards getting their money as one would expect. Having said that wherever I stay to would need to be on the Metro tram link which is just fantastic and cheap at about $1.50 a trip. It takes you anywhere you would want to go.

Great location for visiting historical sites
Great hotel for a very reasonable price, great location for visiting all the major historical sites - all within walking distance. Tram station is also close by so getting to the new part of the city was very easy. Very helpful hotel staff.

This was my second stay at Mari Time. Again, it was wonderful. Comfortable rooms. Friendly and kind staff. A wonderful location. I can walk to the Blue Mosque. The next time I am in Istanbul I will stay here again.

A wonderful little hotel with wonderful, friendly staff- Younis/ Yousef was great! They have a roof top terrace that just isn't used enough. Great central location- close to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofiya, etc.

Fantastic hotel
This was a perfect hotel for me and my family. We stayed there for 4 nights. The rooms were of a good size - we had connecting rooms which worked really well as it had 2 bathrooms and 2 air conditioners. The breakfast was great and had a good variety of food. I was very impressed with the staff as they were very helpful and were always happy to answer our questions and book cabs. The location is convenient for many sites in Istanbul and there are cafes and places to eat close by.

Enjoyed our stay. Room, small twin, clean and well kept. Staff couldn't do more although English was in short supply. Short walk to Blue Mosque/Sofia/Cistern area and plenty of restaurants nearby.

What people don’t know and what previous reviewers didn’t mention is that ALL Istanbul especially Sultanahmet area or (tourist area) is Sultanahmet has no 5 starts hotel. All the hotels (that they called themselves hotels) are not, we can called them Motel or Inn. Its like a group of people who owned small old building, they simply renovated and divided in to few rooms and called it HOTEL, but NO REAL HOTELS in sultanahmet area. We stayed in this hotel in May 2013, it was very very small hotel (building) in a narrow road, and few young people (maybe relatives) manage this hotel. It is 10 min walk from the tourist district area (blue mosuq, etc….) Room: the room was good, little bit clean and need a major renovation. The washroom was very small, (if you are overweight, you can’t fit in it). We stayed 5 days and the housekeeping made-up the room 2 times only !!! they were very slow because there was 1 housekeeping staff since the hotel is small. Breakfast: it was good, has some variety and Turkish traditional food. Staff: it was very friendly, try their best to help you and guide you In general, I would say this hotel was overpriced to what we got. I would recommend this hotel, but for myself if I will go to Istanbul again I would stay in different hotel (close to the tourist area) just to save some walks. Who doesn’t know, you have to walk a lot and a lotttt in Istanbul, so better to get something close to the street train.

My ratings are based on the discounted hotel.com rate I received. I am a budget traveler and was happy with the hotel. It was very clean. The room was not large but ample as we only slept there. The mattress was ok. The bathroom was fine, modern. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and worked hard to serve the guests with a smile. The breakfast was typical Turkish breakfast. Many fresh items and quite a variety of items to eat. My only complaint is they serve Nescafé for coffee. This is not freshly brewed coffee. Since most of the people staying there were European or American I would suggest they work on coffee that targets their clientel- fresh coffee makes for happy guests. On one day we lingered during breakfast and was offered Turkish coffee. This was good if you like Turkish coffee- nice and strong! The juices I did not have. We also enjoyed using the rooftop on more than 3 occasions. This is a basic, no frills hotel. We were happy with our stay. If we paid a higher rate I would have expected an overall higher quality hotel.

Ideal location, small room
10mins walk from blue mosque, charming building but our room (305) very small, not all rooms were this small however as we did get a peak. Breakfast average. Reception staff extremely friendly, polite and eager to help. Rooms not made up any day, only bins emptied and towels changed despite hanging up (seems like a waste), for the price we wouldn't argue though!

Great Hotel, Great Location, Great Staff!
This is a very nce hotel located in a very central Sultanahmet area. It is located on a very quiet street only 5 minutes walk from the Blue mosque itself! There are many restaurants just around the corner which was very helpful and the beach is also a short walk away. The staff were very friendly, professional and provided a very personal touch which can be missing in other bigger hotels. They provided useful information about various locations and were always on hand to provide assistance anytime of the day. Our room was decent sized and we had nothing negative to say about the staff or the hotel itself. Breakfast had a varied choice ranging from scrambled/boiled eggs, croissants, bread, yoghhurt, fresh fruit, cereal, tea, coffee and many more which provided a nice start to the day. We would totally recommed this to everyone!

Ottima posizione per visitare Istanbul, a pochi passi da piazza Sultanhamet. Colazione "essenziale", ma inclusa nel prezzo. Camera pulita e silenziosa, dotata di tutto ciò che può servire. Un po piccolina per tre persone, ma è solo per dormire perché si sta sempre in giro.

Konum ve fiyat olarak mükemmel.
Fiyat performans ilişkisi çok iyiydi. Otelin konumu turistik yerlere ve toplu taşım duraklarına çok yakındı. Otel çalışanları Levent Bey, Bekir Bey ve Dilara Hanım çok yardımsever ve ilgiliydi. Kahvaltı Dilara Hanım'ın çabasıyla çeşitleri çoktu. Samimi bir ortam, herşey için teşekkürler.

Das Personal war sehr Nett und Hilfsbereit, das Hotel war sehr sauber auch das Badezimmer. Küchenkraft hat zum offenen Büfe uns auch am Tisch bedient (Tee nachschütten, kindern ekstra Wünsche erfüllt) Besteck war immer sauber Tische wurden sofort gesäubert nach dem Essen. Es wurde nich ständig versucht irgenwelche Touren zu verkaufen sonder im gegenteil hat man uns günstige Taxen besorgt bzw. Immer auf kostengünstige Sachen hingewiesen. Gerne möchten Wir nochmal hierhinreisen. Danke für Alles Mari Times Es wurde nich versucht ständig irgenwel

Improvement of the breakfast table.
It was my second visit within a week. The room was hot as a sauna, full power on the radiator and the windows open. What a waste of energy. No handle to regulate the heat. The toilet seat had not yet been attached since my last visit. No light at the desk yet. The shower head was still whitewashed. No shower thermostat for the bath water, huge waste of water which costs resources and money. The owner has been notified of this. The breakfast table was improved from a single finished plate to an open buffet with several choices. Great improvement. The staff are mostly young, fresh and helpful. To the owner, what can I say? Take environmental considerations into account and save your money and be nice to your staff.

Отдыхали в Стамбуле с семьей. Рады что выбрали именно этот отель. Очень удачное место, все рядом, завтраки включены. Завтраки всегда были очень вкусными. Повар Диляра хорошо владеет русским языком, очень приветливая и заботливая, все объясняет. Уборка в номере каждый день, чисто, уютно. Отличные администраторы, особенно Чалар, решат любые вопросы. Однозначно вернем снова.
