Secure, friendly, affordable lodging close to Old City touristic sites. Challenging to find the first time from public transit. Family run business, small rooms. Ours had a roof deck with sea view. We’d stay here again.

Lovely place in the old city
Great place and everyone was so nice. The hotel is a lovely place right at the center of the old city thus close to all major place worth visiting.we had a lovely room at the top with a view on the city partial sea view. Breakfast was nice. And they will organise transport to airport with very reasonable rates.

Charming pensione in a magical historical area. What sets this place above the rest however is the exceptional host! Gunule is warm and welcoming, so friendly and helpful with any local queries, I cannot recommend this place enough!

A fantastic gem. A sweet small boutique hotel with an expert host. Wonderful hidden location with close access to the blue mosque and all the sites. Beautiful spot with flowers and lovely restaurants next door. We are from the US and needed a Covid test to get home, the hotel called and had a nurse come and do the test for $10, it made everything so easy. Our family will be back soon, it was a wonderful place.

Great place to stay
Very Good Hotel, very friendly an helpful staff, it has a very homely feel. The lady at reception was always smiling and always greeted me with a warm welcome every time I came through the reception. Has a very cosy little garden terrace downstairs. walking distance from most famous landmarks and in a very quite street. Close to restaurants. The WiFi at the hotel was always good. I would highly recommend this place if your a couple or family. I've been to Istanbul a few times and this was by far the best hotel so far. Only down side My shower was a bit small could just about fit but i managed so not a major issue.

A gem in Istanbul
Amazing stay at Ahmet Efendi Evi and will definitely come back. The Hotel is at walking distance from all the major touristic attractions despite being located in a quiet and very picturesque area. The Owner and staff are absolutely amazing people that genuinely care about providing a fantastic experience and stay. I entered as a guest and left as a friend, This place is a real gem!

I had an amazing stay at Ahmet Efendi Evi. Thank you to the owner, Gonul, her son Jonus and housekeeper Musa for their friendliness, kindness and hospitality to make my stay a memorable one. I've always stayed in chain hotels being on vacation but after staying at Ahmet Efendi Evi I will never stay in chain hotels anymore. I've met so many people at this little gem and some became friends. Ahmet Efendi Evi is so central to explore Istanbul by foot. I will be back in August / Sept. Thanks again Gonul, Jonus and Musa!!!

Home from home will be back
A warm welcome awaits you at Ahmet efendi evi .. the hosts are lovely and freindly and happy to help you in any way they can ..we had the family room which has a living room area and separate bedroom which was great as we were staying 11 nights. Breakfast and fresh coffee was made for us each morning and gave us a good start to the day . The location is great in a quite area within walking distance of the blue mosque and the grand bazaar and walking distance to the hook up to the local transport system , trams, trains,buses,underground and boats. Plenty of good shops and restaurants nearby. Or if you want a delivery the hosts will happily order in for you . This is not a posh hotel its a home from home freindly clean comfortable quiet place that you can feel at ease in . A great base for your adventures in istanbul. Will definitely come back here . Thanks for having us we loved it 💞

Amazing Staff! they went beyond what they needed to, to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Extremely clean & accessible to the shops & tram. I suggest anyone visiting Istanbul to stay here, it is definitely the best hotel I stayed in Turkey.

Lovely and very homely and cozy feeling. Felt more like coming back home than a hotel. Loved it. Staff is very friendly and does everything to make you comfortable. Breakfast options can be improved. Also no lift but staff helped us get our luggage to our rooms. The area around the property is also very lively with food and drink options and groceries available till late night. Would definitely recommend it. 9/10

You pay one night and the hotel charges you two! I paid the same rate twice, once by bank transfer, with data provided by the HOTEL EMPLOYEE and once that they got my card details via Expedia. When I set up my trip, I was told to be careful with taxi drivers in Istanbul, I tell you to be careful about charging this hotel. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Dear Mr Andre, First of all, I would like to apologize personally for the incident you faced during your stay at Ahmet Efendi Evi. I would like to inform you that the amount you transferred still hold by the bank and it wasn't transferred to our account. I was in touch with the bank to release the amount not possible because of the conflict between the Turkish Lira and the Euro transaction. The bank is asking if you request a refund and the 17€ will be automatically deposited back into your account. which we do respect everyone’s opinion, We must clarify few points so that can be made clear to everyone reading this review; in terms of the double payment is explained above due to the wrong currency account been paid to and we are keeping you updated about any news from the bank.,

Incredible Hospitality
Lovely family run hotel. Due to the chaos at Istanbul airport, I’ve missed my flight home so I stayed at this hotel for a day and a half before catching my flight home. The couple who ran this hotel are so warm and welcoming. I felt so much at ease when I arrived at the hotel after a very stressful night at the airport. The neighborhood was alittle off the main tourist area so it was also quiet but safe. There’re a few shops that offer delicious food at reasonable prices. I just love the atmosphere of the hotel and surrounding area. You can get a feel of how local people live, which is a relief from the tourist areas where every other guy wants to be your friend and bring you to their spice or carpet shop. But again what made my stay so special was the incredible hospitality of the couple who ran the hotel. I felt so comfortable throughout my stay. Definitely one of the best family run hotels I’ve stayed at in Istanbul. Highly recommend!

A fantastic budget hotel, friendly and very helpful staff and a very clean environment. We arrived early and had lost luggage en route: the team accommodated us with an early check in and measures to find our lost suitcase and even offered use of personal toiletries. The staff assisted with touristic travel plans. We did not take breakfast at the hotel but the buffet they offered was extensive and would please most people. We were amazed and the daily change of bedding and towels and the eventual tracking of one (thought gone forever) suitcase. Yes, the bathrooms are small ...but they have made the very best of the space available to them. An excellent experience which we have shared already with friends.

Small Hotel who gives you the most for your money!
Didn‘t expect too much for the price, but this little Hotel is a true treasure. We loved everything about it. Stuff is super friendly and helpful. Location is great. Very clean and rooms are cozy. Felt more like family than a Hotel. Would stay there again and recommend to everybody asking for a recommendation where to stay in Istanbul!

the staff are amazing , and extremely helpful! The location and the accommodation size is fair for the price you pay, however the rooms are tight, the bathrooms - particularly the showers, need attention
