"The hotel reminded me of a Motel 6. The staff is excellent and very friendly, Had the most comfortable bed I've ever had at a hotel. Slept really well. Was a couple minutes from the airport and close to plenty of parks and places to eat. Would recommend getting a rental car so you can enjoy the whole island. "There is nothing wrong with the property. It is a slightly bit dated, but it is a great place to stay. I have stayed here for both business and leisure. The location is good however, it is surrounded by other run down locations. I assume big storms have ravaged this location. Overall, I will continue to stay here while on the Hilo side of the Big Island. There is a smell of mold on the building entry passageway from storms impacting the carpet. "The Wild Ginger offers the true big island lodging experience. Staff is young, very friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable, clean and have a lovely vintage vibe. Anyone that has something negative to say about this hotel probably shouldn't be visiting this island. This place rocks! Stay Here!"
