We were in Great Missenden for a friends 50th and decided to stay here instead of the conference centre at Missenden Abbey and I'm so glad we did. I can't speak for the dinner as unfortunately, we arrived a bit later than we were expecting so didn't have time, which was a disappointment as the menu looked fabulous and if the breakfast is anything to go by I'm sure the quality of the food would have been amazing. Both my wife and I commented that it was the best breakfast we've ever had in a hotel, high quality ingredients cooked to perfection. The only note for improvement would be that perhaps they could have some vegetarian sausages on standby for people who don't eat meat (like my wife) However she did have the rest and they put some wilted spinach on her plate which she said was absolutely delicious. The room was a good size, the bed was comfy and everything including the bathroom was scrupulously clean. If I'm ever remotely near the area again I will definitely be staying there.
Room and bathroom both compact, but generally very comfortable with useful additions such as water in the room. Bed was excellent. Shower was slightly annoying as it ran cold for one second every 10 seconds. Nice and quiet when we stayed midweek in October but I would be concerned about potential noise from any events in the teepee just outside our room in the summer. Dinner was excellent the Roast Cauliflower was awesome -so good i had it again the 2nd night. Breakfast was great and included fresh warm croissants!
