My principle gripe is that I pre-booked Bed and Breakfast before the lockdown for £72 for one night. Arriving shortly after the lockdown, discovered that breakfast is no longer available "because of covid". My friend who booked that week, had a similar room at a rate of £48. When I asked if I would be refunded for the breakfast they can no longer supply, the answer was "no". So I'm now out of pocket and had to find a breakfast the next morning for myself (Morrisons cafe was open, thank heavens). The other hotels I stayed in on this trip to Scotland all managed to supply a cooked breakfast despite the Covid regulations, so not sure why Arden couldn't manage that. Other than that, the first room they offered had a window I could not leave securely open all night so I ended up instead with a twin room with a more secure window. The thermostatic valves for the radiators in my room were broken, so no way to turn off the heating... The TV in the room had poor, unwatchable reception of BBC 1 and 2, and the menu system for the TV was in Russian... At £48 it would be just about tolerable. At £72 it was a very poor value in my opinion and I would most certainly not recommend it.
