"The situation was excellent. Very friendly staff. Fine dining although the breakfasts were average. The bar served fine beer and offered a good eating alternative to the hotel restaurant. The room was comfortable and quiet with instant hot water and an excellent shower."

"I stayed at The Pilgrim Inn for work and chose it firstly because of its proximity to the Docks in Southampton and secondly the dreadful offerings of the hotels near the terminal. I was very impressed! The room was comfortable and roomy, the food & beer was great, the staff very friendly. I couldn’t fault it….. My only issue was there was a very pungent drain smell coming from the drains in the bathroom (right next to my head) which definitely needs looking into! I informed the staff and they said it would be looked into. All in all a great stay and would recommend to anyone. Please though, sort the stinky drains out!! "

"We had a great stay at Bartley Lodge after visiting Peppa Pig world inside Paultons Park Family of four: two adults and two kids age 3 and 7 - both autistic so they are loud and a bit restless waiting, but we felt welcome and comfortable during our stay. The lady managing the dining room brought them colours and books for the table to play with as the conservatory had less WiFi signal for watching cartoons. Great breakfast options really filling and fresh including the usual familiar cereal and toast and juice The room was comfortable, with enough space for all of us. The children were provided with fold out mini-beds that were made up with bedding. They slept comfortably. Our bed was comfortable and cosy The bathroom had a bath with a shower over the top. Soap and shower gel provided with big thick towels. The only thing missing was a wash cloth but we made do We were quite warm in the night but we did not want to leave the window open while we slept incase the children tried to climb through (traditional lift-up window). The grounds were beautiful and we had short walk around in the morning to say hi to the sheep and cows roaming the fields which was a lovely touch Overall it was a lovely stay and we would come again and recommend it to friends and family wanting to stay in the area. "

"Everyone on the staff is excellent, and the food delicious. We have stayed before and will again. The gardens are a treat, so well looked after, and the gardener is such an asset, we had good conversations with him about his work, and his ethos for the garden, many ideas to take home. "

"Staff are amazing , so attentive , polite and nothing is too much trouble. Mattress little hard for my back but you can please everyone so that’s ok! Coffee/tea tray topped up twice a day & bottled water provided & love that the rooms are turned in before bed."
