The resort is absolutely beautiful. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food quality seems to have declined in the past few years.

Great restaurants, the view was amazing. I enjoyed The pool it was amazing with swim up bars. The beach it was fantastic. The room it was ok. The hotel have very good service and friendly staff. I really enjoyed my visit.

I’ve been going here for 6 years and love it.. however, I was disappointed to see that there isn’t a buffet dining option at the Veranda 6 days a week. They have turned it into restaurant style dining 6 days a week and the menu items are very limited. At least when it’s buffet style you have many different food options. It seems very stressful on the staff to wait on so many tables. We waited an hour for our food.

I loved the way beach access and beautiful pool areas but the most annoying part is that you have to give your room card for every meal and then it takes so long to get it back. Then they expect extra tips on top of the gratuities already included. Wouldn’t go back for these reasons. All the other resorts I’ve stayed at did not require you to give your room key to eat and then expect extra tips.

The property was nice and clean and staff was also great. Our room was cleaned and fridge was replenished daily. One thing that we didn’t like was the constant hounding of going to the timeshare presentation. Right as you are checked in, the concierge takes you to your room and gives you this long speech when all you really want to do is just wind down and get settled from your long long day of travel. We knew we were not going to buy into anything and didn’t feel like wasting 90 mins of our short trip sitting thru something that was only going to give us a slight discount on excursions but nonetheless you just keep getting hounded. Also the breakfast options at the buffet was really repetitive, they should look to switch it up now and then. The Ala Carte restaurants were all good. Would we stay here again? Probably not but it was not a bad option just not for us.

We always enjoy staying at The Royal Sands. The only thing that I feel.like could be corrected is the All Inclusive options were limited. I suggest having more than 1 beer option and offering the buffets in the evenings woukd be nice.

Our recent trip to Royal Sands in Mexico was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the resort's charm, hospitality, and attention to detail. As a family, we've had our fair share of travels, but this experience truly stood out as one of the best. Each meal was amazing and they have it all. Whether we were dining by the pool with Manuel, Alexis, Mario and Angel, enjoying a beachfront sunset dinner, or indulging in the offerings at the specialty restaurants and buffets, every dish was amazing. Kudos to the entire staff. We had Piedad and Karla at the buffet and they were amazing. The entertainment at Royal Sands was top-notch. We were treated to a variety of shows, live music, and themed events that kept us entertained throughout our stay. It was refreshing to see such talented performers putting on memorable performances night after night. The amenities at the resort were also wonderful. The pools were in perfect condition and had just the right amount of activity. Not to boring, not too crowded. We also took advantage of the spa services. We got an incredible couples massage from Abril and Ruth on the 4th floor terrace! What truly sets Royal Sands apart is its impeccable service. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Thank you to everyone - Fer, Wilmer, Miguel and Santiago. You're all doing a great job!

Pros: -Amazingly beautiful beach -Extremely friendly staff, very helpful concierges -One of the cheaper options in the area -Very nice pools and swim up bars -Clean facility overall Cons: -Did get food poisoning from one of the restaurants. Difficult to rank it higher after that -Food overall was not bad but fairly mediocre -The “All inclusive” excludes roughly 1/3 to 1/2 of the food depending on where you eat -Not much to do at the resort if you are looking for activities compared to others in the area -The hours of the bars are VERY limited for an all inclusive, only opening at 11 and many closing quite early Overall: We enjoyed it for the beach and the price, but likely better options in the area. And the food poisoning definitely knocked it down a star as well.

The pool area was really nice but I didn’t like how the all exclusive isn’t really all exclusive. There was stuff on menu that has surcharge which means you paid the difference if you wanted that item. And when you order things . They always need your room card so they can itemize what you get even if you didn’t get any thing that didn’t have surcharge. The food was ok. The restaurant food that you had to make reservations for was great. Drinks and alcohol for all exclusives test water down .

This property is a time share property. It is not fully all inclusive, there are good and drinks that are not included, it was annoying not truly knowing if you were gonna have to pay for something or not. It is also not a new property so the furniture and rooms are outdated.

The check-in staff at Royal sands do not service with a smile. There was particularly a lady named Rosa at the building A that seemed to be in a very bad mood each time I went up to ask for some help or inquiries. Each time I spoke with her, I could not help but to wonder why an all-inclusive hotel such as this would hire such a staff who can make their resort look bad and makes visitors not want to come back. Non of them smiled which is so surprising for an all-inclusive resort. They did not seem happy with their job. The only person that seemed to want to help was a concierge I came across named Maria who helped with booking with reservations for dinner and another lady named Mia. They were both kind and wanted to genuinely be of service. Our first concierge named Andrea disappeared after the first day when he saw we had no interest in his sales of timeshare. He was wanted to try and book a timeshare meeting the moment we had just arrived and needed rest and downtime from travel. He seemed ill-timed and insensitive to the resort visitors needs. The beach was nice, although you must be down by the beach to reserve by 5-6am every morning. Also you had to give your key card to the servers each time you ordered something from the restaurant and the pool bar which was so strange and inconvenient. I had to look for my key card many times because the attendant took so long to bring it back when we were ready to head back to our room. Overall, was not an ideal experience.

I have come to Cancun probably ten times in my life. While the the room itself was Nice ish (old bathrooms- not the most modern furniture, but very clean and always replenished with water bottles etc) the minute you stepped outside of the room, with your all inclusive bracelet MANY thing were not included. Wanted a compari spritz? Nope Had to pay for that. Wanted tequila blanco shots? Nope had To pay extra, you Could only have repasado shots. Wanted a certain appetizer, salad, or entree at the restaurant? Nope there was a surcharge. For someone staying in a two bedroom oceanfront villa with a VIP All inclusive access bracelet, I can tell you I would not return and have never been so Nickeled and dimed like that for an “all inclusive” plan.

Beautiful view and beach. Rooms we had were great and loved it. Close stores and malls to walk to as well and free shuttle to neighboring resort. Our host Lesley went out of her way to give information and make reservations for us. Even when she was not at work she was still helping us. I would stay here again and if I go back to Cancun we will stay there again for sure. Nicest resort Iv ever stayed at. The only issue we had was with the all inclusive stipulations with drinks. When you pay to have a beautiful view and want to stay on the outside balcony to enjoy the view it should not be a chore to get drinks to your room. Two beer each is not realistic and your fridge should be stocked with what you request. Or a six pack at a time would be nice. This was a complaint from other guests as well. Not just me. That was our only issue and suggestion to correct.

About hotel : All the staff were professional, clean and polite, the hotel is very beautiful and the rooms are clean But about Expedia:didn't explain much about the regular room and that's why we had to pay more for the room with view the ocean "Royal Suite", for two people this extra cost was about $400 however for us if the regular rooms were also the ocean view and for us It was enough . If was more explanations about this rooms , were given on the Expedia website, we would have chosen it royal suit with extra payment
