“Great place to stay out of the way but still close enough...............”
The hotel is easy to find and has great views of the city and canals, i went with my friends for a weekend of drinking etc and the hotel was great! its only a 5 min tram ride from the centre of amsterdam and the stop is right out of the front door! And about 6 min walk from central station, believe the pics of the rooms they are exactly the same in fact probly dont do it justice!
“Excellent hotel with good location”
The Moevenpick was a great hotel, very clean and obviously very new. The staff were all friendly and spoke very good english. Rooms were extreemely nice and modern. 15 minus walk to Central Station or 2 minutes on the tram which stops 100 meters from reception. We got a taxi from the airport on arrival which was 50 euro but got a train from Central Station for the return which was on 3.60 euro each and took the same amount of time so i would always advise to do this!! Only down side was that although i requested a room with a king or double bed, we were told that only twins were available.
“Fantastic, Modern and Clean Hotel”
This is a fairly new hotel. Our room had a great view of the habour and we were impressed by the modern interior of the room. I would go back to this hotel if I am ever in Amsterdam. Another plus is that this hotel is 100% non-smoking.
“Superb in every way!!!”
At first we thought the hotel was a little out of the way but soon changed our minds. Its a short walk from Central Station, tram stop opposite, great views. Fantastic service by very friendly and knowledgable staff. Dinner in restaurant was first class! Room very modern and minimalist, only complaint no drawers to put clothes in. Everything else was great and we will certainly go back.
“A clean, modern hotel with friendly helpful staff, will definitely be going back.”
A great hotel, although a windy walk along the front from Central Station to Movenpick Hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only down side in the room, the bed is very hard. The famous Swiss Movenpick icecream is delicious. Breakfast is a buffet, to which there was always fresh and plenty, no matter what time you turned up for breakfast. We will definitely be staying there again.
“Probably the best hotel I have stayed in!”
Although the hotel isn't as central as I had expected, they run a 'shuttle' minibus every half hour from the hotel to the back of the train station. All you do is book a place, and hey presto. It's free and punctual. The staff are charming without being gushing, and I must recommend the buffet breakfast (at extra cost), where you can help yourself to everything from smoked salmon to fresh mango! The beds are divinely comfortable, and the rooms and bathrooms are beautifully designed and appointed. Everything about the hotel is perfect!
“Great Hotel”
Great Hotel, Great view, Great service...
“Fantastic hotel- great price”
The moevenpick is situated about a 15 minute walk from central station and sits on the River Amstel- the hotel itself is flawless- my only issue with it is its location- beautiful views but I began to tire of a big walk 6 times a day along the deserted industrial "badland" that sits between the moevenpick and the middle of town. Nevertheless- this is a great hotel with excellent staff and the all-important 24Hr bar. Kudos to the extremely able barstaff. Rooms are spacious, new, modern, spotless, stylish and all of which have a spectacular view. Enjoy!
“Highly recommended”
We were very satisfied with our family room at the Moevenpick Hotel. Staff were courteous, efficient and helpful; Mo the concierge deserves a special mention for making a special trip to the station with my 10 year old son's bag which he had forgotten on departure. The views from our room over the canal, the city and towards Nemo were spectacular.
“Very modern, clean hotel”
This hotel was clean and modern. We are a family of three with a 10 year old and normally sharing a bedroom means that there is not much extra room to move about. This was not the case in this room as the sofa was merely made into a bed for our stay. The location of the hotel near the harbour meant that the views from our room were amazing. The only down side was the construction going on during our visit mid-July which meant that it took a bit longer to get to the tram stop but that was not really such a problem. We did not have breakfast in the hotel because we felt it was a bit expensive for us, but on our last night we had a meal in the bar and it was very good. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room was also a welcome change for us Brits!. This is not normal in European hotels.we would not hesitate to reccoment this hotel to friends.
