a little disappointingPosted 04-Sep-2013
Hi, I would not recommend this hotel if you have any legs/knee/ankle/back problems. The rooms are really small, the stairs are terrible, you need to literately climb to your room (any floor 1st, 2nd.....). there is no elevator! the internet randomly works on the rooms. The bathroom was shared, however it was clean and okay so that was good. The breakfast was definitely the best part, there's a lot of food if you go early, if not, you won't eat. The price was high for what I received, I was expecting something more comfortable and pleasant. It is far from the main train station, around 40 to 45 minutes walking fast distance from there. The trams start working at 6 and buses around 520am, if you have an early flight or train, you may need to wake up really early in the morning so you can catch it. This is recommended for young people or backpackers, that don't care about quality, just to have a save place to leave your stuff and a place with roof to sleep.

horrible servicePosted 22-Aug-2013 on Hotels.com
the people in the lobby are completely rude, they don't care about giving a good service at all. The rooms are not worth the money at all. The only good thing about the hotel is that you are near leidesplein. From there you can walk around the city. Other than that i don't recommend this hotel at all. Again, it's not worth the money.

OK HOTEL FOR A LADS JOLLYPosted 17-May-2013
Pros: staff & breakfast,LOCATION
Cons: décor,size of rooms,
Location: location good
This hotel does exactly what it says on the tin. It's a 1 star hotel after all.If you're taking your other half for a bit of romance.Forget it.I was there on a lads jolly for the Europa league final. So we never saw much of the hotel.Continental breakfast was decent.Staff were pleasant. It's also handy for Dam square & central train station. The tram stops literally across the street, takes 5 mins to central, costs 2 euros 40.Cab's about 15 euros. All in all if you're in Amsterdam on a stag do,for a day or so,it's ok.Longer breaks with your partner, forget it.

Avoid this placePosted 07-May-2013
Terrible terrible venue, a hell on earth. Feels more like a prison than a hotel.

I've been here for four days out of fourteen, so far my room hasn't been cleaned once, not has my towels been replaced. The hotel is also not a hotel but a hostel, with a few single rooms no bigger than a cupboard. The free wifi is accessed by a piece of paper printed out with login details, that have to be imputed every five mins (why they didn't use a standard router and password setup is beyond). Finally the hotel also bans you from opening windows. This somewhere I would encourage you to IGNORE, please for the love of god don't stay here.

Great Hotel - no problemsPosted 25-Jan-2013 on Hotels.com
This is a great little hotel not far away from the heart of amsterdam, really fast on the tram and around a 30/40 minute walk from Centraal Station, with Vondel park a two minute walk away and the Heineken experience also very close. The hotel staff were friendly and allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel after we checked out for our convenience. The room was clean, comfy, and the shared toilet facilities were also clean and we didn't have any problems with them at all, no queues or anything like that and there are sinks in all of the rooms, which were also very convenient. This is perfect for a few days away, especially with the free breakfast - there's not much variety, but you definitely can't complain for the cheap cost - we got much more than we bargained for. The trams were fairly loud outside and the stairs are steep, but apart from these minor things, the hotel was great, safe, and we had a pleasant stay.

very pleasedPosted 17-Dec-2012 on Hotels.com
2ND time staying here. The only complaint is that if you are catching an early flight (11am) breakfast isn't served until 8. Wish they would open for breakfast by 7am. Even inquired at the desk and there was no budging. But other than that very pleased.
Amsterdam city breakPosted 24-Sep-2012 on Hotels.com
Good value for money. Clean room, shower/bathroom in good condition. It wasn't the Hilton, but it did exactly what it needed to. Safe place to pass out after wandering the streets of Amsterdam all day. I would stay there again (but not if I had my partner as the beds were comfy but small.)

Never ever stay herePosted 20-Sep-2012
Cons: Speaking to the man at reception
Location: A long walk from the train station
Hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed and the man at reception was horrible to everyone, we asked him for help with something and he was extremely difficult to get along with and very rude
