“Well Recommendable for a Budget Hotel”

This is a one star hotel but we were impressed by its cleanliness, the helpfulness of the staff and the location. We will definitely be trying to book this hotel the next time we visit Amsterdam:)

“Value for mony”

Basic hotel in a good loaction!! Very basic but tidy & clean and Friendly staff! A good place to crash 4 people who will be out all day & just going to crash out at night! A Tram 2 central amsterdam stops right outside the hotel every 10 mins till 12:30!! Not a bad word to say about it other than the cat scrap in the hall on the last night but the value for money is not to be sneezed at!!

“Ok but could be better”

The location is fine and quite handy, but I didn't want to stay inside the hotel for longer than needed - luckily there's lots to see and do in Amsterdam itself. The 4 flights of stairs to my room were not fun to climb, but I suppose that couldn't be helped. There are some annoying things which can be easily solved like Room No. 25 coming before Room No. 18 up the staircase, dusty ledges in the room, lack of hoovering in room, missing mirror above sink, uneven shelves, constant low supply of toilet paper in the communal toilet, shower drain blocked, constant noise of doors closing, miserable lady at reception. There is a sweet and simple breakfast in a pleasant dining room overlooking the street. This hotel is ok overall, but could easily be a better experience with a bit of consideration.

“Has fantastic potential”

The Hotel was a comfortable base, didn't encourage rest periods, the room had the bin emptied daily didn't notice clean linen or towels other than when we arrived. The toilet and shower facilities were quite poor, I took my own cleaning wipes with me to clean the toilet before each use. The floor had urine on it most times and I wasn't convinced that it was the toilet that was leaking, the toilet was very small and you had very, very little room to move.

“Not up to the mark”

Definitely not value for money . Room was too small . 1 common bathroom for 6 rooms . No proper amenities/toiletries provided . I had to ask the receptionist for towels and I could not get them on the first day . Check in time was 2 pm on Friday for me but I was told I could not check in until 330 pm . For both the above , the reason I was given was that ' lot of people checked out (on a Friday morning .. yeah!!) and hence the rooms / towels were not ready' . The only good thing about this hotel was its location , close to Leidseplein which connects to all the major touristy places and walking distance from the main canals . Breakfast provided was decent

“oh my god”

what a hole this was, granted it was cheap but I at least expected a toilet in the room when it said en-suite bathroom. both the beds had legs missing, dirty, ripped bedding and squeaked horrendously. my one subsequently broke in the early hours after being kept awake till 3am by the trams passing by just outside. very small rooms with even thinner walls, more like large cupboards esp when u have 2 suitcases. staff very unfriendly and unhelpful, both at checking in and in the morning when we asked if we could leave our cases while we explored amsterdam. breakfast was horrific, it looked like it had been taken out from the bin and reheated, the other"guests" sitting in the room were all discussing what drugs they had taken the previous night and what they were going to take that evening. when i orginally booked this "hotel" it was rated 3 star, it's now been changed to 1. room was dirty, i do not wish to comment on the state of the toilet, i had to keep going out to use nearest bar/restaurant and then the shower when they closed for the night. this isn't a hotel at all, more like student digs or a squat. expedia i want my money back.
