No visitor to this high altitude city should miss out on the stunning sunrise. One of the best places to witness the incredible spectacle is at Arthur’s Seat. With unusual and captivating rock formations, which have been compared to those at the Grand Canyon, this is certainly an area that will amaze you.

The location’s beauty is powerfully paired with the story behind it. It was named after Arthur Mallet, whose wife and children tragically died after a ferry accident on the Savitri River. It is believed this spot provided a reflective seclusion for the grieving Mallet.

If you want somewhere else that’s beautiful to watch the sunrise, then check out Wilson Point. This is the highest point in the whole of Mahabaleshwar, complete with refreshing breezes and panoramic views. Pack a breakfast picnic and head off early to make the most of the dawn hours. You can catch a cab there but be aware that they will only take you so far. You will have to hike up a small trail to reach the peak.

The Panchganga Temple offers mesmerising design and surrounding waters. This temple was built in the 13th century and sits at the confluence of the five rivers of Koyna, Krishna, Sayitri, Venna and Gayatri.
