I couldn’t fault the Salt of Palmar Hotel. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. The food was excellent quality and cooked to order. I would recommend the all inclusive option as not so many other options nearby. Very good coffee also. The location is on the East coast, so a bit windier. We took a few snorkelling trips on the hotel’s boat, which was amazing. We stayed 2 weeks and took some days out to tour the island, lots of trips/tours available. The room looked directly out onto the Ocean with waves breaking on the reef. Quiet surroundings and very safe environment. Would 100 % recommend

We stayed at Le Jadis in one of their beach villas, and for the price they charge, the experience was honestly disappointing. We found several bugs — on the couch and even in the bathroom — and there were a lot of mosquitos, with my wife getting the majority of the bites. For a supposedly five-star luxury villa, that’s really not acceptable. Parking was also a hassle. Despite staying in one of their premium villas, I was asked to park outside the resort because there wasn’t enough parking available. For a hotel in this price range, that’s simply poor planning and not the kind of experience you expect. When we requested a late checkout, the hotel only offered an extra hour, even though they confirmed they weren’t fully booked. This was especially disappointing after explaining that my wife is pregnant — the lack of empathy and flexibility really stood out. Some of the staff members were great, particularly the waiters, who were polite and attentive. However, the concierge service could be improved — when I asked a few basic questions, they didn’t seem to know the answers and had to check with the manager. To make matters worse, we were accused of taking extra snacks from the minibar, which we did not. It was uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially given that we had already paid for a high-end villa experience. The food was good but limited, which again doesn’t justify the premium price tag. Great hotel in the heart of Port Louis. Rooms are large and well-equipped. The staff are extremely helpful, relaxed and professional, they make you feel welcome for sure. The hotel restaurants are good and in the immediate area around the hotel there are lots of cafes and restaurants. Highly recommended!
