The hotel was tired and in need of renovation. Furniture was outdated and in many cases had damage such as scratches, gouges and stains. Most concerning was the fact that a large section of the carpeting between one of the queen beds and the in-room HVAC unit was soaking wet due to a probable condensation leak. The bathroom tub had a broken stopper mechanism, so the hotel had simply provided a rubber drain stopper instead. Not what I would expect from a hotel so highly rated on Expedia. The lobby was very small for a hotel located in Manhattan, and filled with outdated and crowded (due to furniture arrangement) seating areas. The staff was friendly and helpful to be sure. But management had not led them to advise us of the "free" beverage allowances our rate provided for. I use the " " because the "free" items were specifically listed as being due to the $45 "resort/amenity fee" that we paid. I blame Expedia for being incorrect/deceptive in the fee being charged, as the rate that I pre-paid to them was advertised as "all taxes and fees included." Obviously, not all fees were included. I would not recommend this hotel to someone looking for any type of luxury accomodation in the Manhattan area, especially given the prices being charged. If you want a beaten up Hampton Inn with rates on steroids, then you would be in luck.

The property was clean and in a very convenient location. Staff was very helpful for my stay, particularly Maria at the reception desk. Two thumbs ups!

Unfortunately, my stay at YOTEL New York Times Square was disappointing. The staff were rude and unhelpful, and the room was not as clean as I expected. For the price and location, I expected much better service and cleanliness. Overall, not a great experience. paid $987 for two nights
