My wife and I spent a week at GR Solaris Cancun and overall had a good vacation, but that was more because of the time we spent together than because of the resort itself. The highlight of our stay was our oceanfront room with a private plunge pool. We spent most of the week sitting by the pool, enjoying the ocean view, watching beautiful sunsets, relaxing, and catching up on much-needed rest. For someone who normally gets up around 3:00 a.m. for work, this trip gave me the chance to slow down, take naps, and recharge. We also enjoyed exploring the area. Our excursions to Tulum, an ATV adventure, and swimming in a cenote were some of the best parts of the trip. We paid for a deep-tissue massage that was excellent and worth every dollar. As for the resort itself, our experience was mixed. We felt there was a noticeable difference in how members and non-members were treated. Several restaurants, bars, and amenities were either closed or had limited availability during our stay. We understand it was a slower time of year, but it often felt like many of the advertised options weren't fully available. We were invited multiple times to attend a membership presentation. After considering it, we declined. The perks being offered simply weren't enough to justify the commitment for us. We enjoy traveling to different destinations and don't see ourselves returning to the same resort often enough for a membership to make sense. Would we return? Probably not. Air conditioner poor

We arrived for our 1-week stay, and after waiting a long time to get our room, it was immediately evident that what we were booked for and what we were getting were completely different. It felt like a bait and switch. Our room was outdate, falling apart, had more of a view of the large, loud activity pool than the ocean, and didn't even seem set up for 2 guests - only one side of the sink had towels and a cup, there was no coffee for the coffee maker, no bar items in the "mini bar", etc. We were told that there was a big Members event so they gave all the Members attending room priority and shunted us to a crappy room hoping we wouldn't say anything. The only bright side after hours of dealing with this mess, was that one of the managers agreed to let us cancel for a full refund - we booked another property, got in a cab, and left. Final note: the bell boy assumed we didn't speak Spanish and worked out a overcharge with the taxi driver that cost us literally twice what I had initially agreed to - then was completely rude to me when I called him out on it... we were so anxious at that point to leave that I just sucked it up so we didn't have to wait any longer to get on with our trip. Complete and utter disappointment! p.s. based on this experience, I also cancelled a booking I had made at this property for next April.

I’d give it 10 stars if possible! This is our absolute favorite beach resort in any country!! As always, we had an incredible stay in a stunning Ocean room with staff who constantly went above and beyond! We will be back soon!
