"Room was quite musty smelling. Carpet old and in need of a deep clean at least or replacing. The sofa also old and smelly. I wouldnt want to sit on it. Kitchen fixtures also old and inside them could do with a good clean and replacement or removal of liners. "

So it’s no surprise that this carried over to the rooms which were well stocked and comfortable. The amenities and service were great and I would recommend the Alpine Rose to anyone visiting Greymouth."

"The outside of the building is a stark contrast to the inside of the building, which was a relief. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant was aesthetically pleasing but the food was very disappointing. It was the worst steak my husband said he has ever had. He is an ex-chef. Both of our meals were warm-cold. The male restaurant staff member was not very friendly and uniform was scruffy. Heating the plates and ensuring food arrives hot would go a long way to improving things. "
