The property and rooms were fine. However, the temperature controls in each room were hard to adjust with no directions in English. We had to call down to the front desk three times and eventually they brought up a space heater which made it so hot we couldn't sleep. If we had known how to adjust the heat and how long it would take to actually come up to temperature it would have been a lot easier and much less agravating.

We got the wrong information from the Staff about breakfast hours. So, we couldn´t have breakfast our last day. They returned the money, but, we had to look for another place to eat.

Ideal hotel for business trip, modern, clean and comfortable with nice restaurant. Would have been nice o have a bottle of water in the room each day for room price or at least on arrival.

No shower doors so the water makes a huge mess. The walk to the room is a maze. I had to drive to my room. I felt like it was a school field trip in a cabin. The place was not dirty but it wasn't exactly fresh....

Pleasant hotel

The reception and Bar area are great, the halls, the rooms, furniture and Bathrooms are a relic of the 80's and ought to be renovated. The WiFi was very unstable, some would say poor :/

Excellent !
Our booking decision was based on location/price and the price was very reasonable. After climbing the narrow Dutch-style staircase with our suitcases to the second floor, we were pleasantly surprised by the large room - with 4 beds and sitting area for us 3 adults. The bathroom was large as well and everything was spotlessly clean. However, the motel shows it's age and is in serious need of an upgrade (with elevator). The restaurant did not disappoint and service overall was as to be expected from a VdV hote/restaurant - GREAT ! We were very happy with our stay and the reasonable price we paid as compared with surrounding VdV hotels in the area.

Just a mediocre hotel. Clean, comfortable beds but room in need of updating. While the reception area and restaurant areas are very nice the rest not so. In comparison to other Van der Valks it lacks. The restaurant does not compare to VDV Groningen North. The most frustrating of all was a week of poor internet connection. POOR!! Recommend the other Groningen location.

Hotel is OK. It is right in the town centre and church bell practise happenned very early. Finding the car park is a bit of a mission. Breakfast was OK

This was a business stay, and as such, it was perfectly located near the motorway connecting Germany and Groningen. The hotel is comfortable, has restaurant facilities to make up for the lack of restaurants in the area, and serves a great breakfast for a small price. Beds are comfortable. Would stay again.

A relaxing and peaceful hotel. Wonderful view. Very courteous staff. Only negatives I felt was very poorly lit rooms. Couldn't see what's in the closet or your suitcase. At night if you kept the balcony door closed no ventilation. So air passage nil. Got very stuffy at night. During tge the day had to keep the balcony door and curtains open for air and light.

Worth its 4 Stars.
2nd visit in 2 weeks. This is a lovely refurbished Hotel. Huge rooms, huge bathrooms with separate shower and bath. The restaurant is quite lavish with flame effect fires, white and black leather seats. The food is real quality dining at reasonable price. €3 for glass of wine and €20 for a lovely steak meal. Good choice at breakfast also. There is a full size competition swimming pool, sauna and small gym. Ample free parking, free WiFi throughout, strong enough for video calling. Worth 4 stars. Tip: Pay the extra for comfort rooms, better quality with tea and coffee and only small difference in price.

Van Der Valk comfort
The hotel Van Der Valk, Zuidbroek is ideal. Just off the A7 and set in a countryside atmosphere. The meals were excellent and staff very helpful. Overall very comfortable and clean. You can also get a packed lunch which was enough for the day. Thankyou.

Poor procedures.
I got a low grade room which was changed to the one on the confirmation the next day. When paying I was charged full rate in stead if the correct one. You either have very poor procedures in the reception or you are trying doing businness in a very unethical way.
