Forchu Lightstation, Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. #EndlessSummer Husband and sons swimming in the lake at my brothers cabin in Nova Scotia. Both sons favorite movie is Stand By Me...youngest son got out after messing in the reeds by the shore...only to find a leech on his belly...classic Stand By Me moment. Beautiful place...freshwater lake, perfect for swimming, perfect for relaxing, quite and serene.
You may recognize this lighthouse. It has been in a lot of movies. most recently, "The Lighthouse." The lighthouse was constructed in 1839 and was operational in 1840. The original station was demolished in 1961 and replaced in 1962 with the "apple core" tower.
