With new restrictions and safety precautions in place, travel looks a lot different these days. These are some helpful things to know before you fly off to Xiyuan Subdistrict:

• Know what rules and restrictions apply to both your destination and origin. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so remember to check in advance.
• Wear a face mask even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to temporarily lower your mask for ID purposes.
• To reduce the potential of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the reader yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA agent.
• TSA is now permitting passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on bags. This will have to be removed from your bag to be screened.
• To reduce handling during screening, place items such as your keys, wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on instead of into the bins.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Putting it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
