"I stopped in early to see if I could get an early check in, due to taking a red-eye flight and needing sleep. The owner said to check back at noon and he'd see if he could work something out. I did do that, at 1PM, and he was able to check me in then. He charged me $20 (regular check in was 3 PM). I didn't mind paying it because I was so exhausted.
The room was sufficient for my needs. The AC worked wonderfully (it was in the 90s that day). The bedding was clean and there were clean towels. There was a TV, fridge, and I was happy with those things, even though everything is very dated looking.
This was all great until...I noticed the door knob wasn't secure. The locking mechanism was broken and very loose. I pushed a chair to be wedged between the edge of the bed and the door. That worked. The ottoman was dirty. It had random strings and dust, and such on it. The fabric was black so it was easy to tell it hadn't been cleaned lately. The carpet had crumbs on it. The shower was clean, but the WORST part was the toilet was dirty. The space behind the toilet seat and the tank hadn't been cleaned in a while. It was disgusting.
So, though I appreciated the early check in, the AC, and the clean bedding, the other things were enough to make me not want to use this hotel again."
