Disliked: Amenities, property conditions & facilities
There are pros and cons to this stay.
PROS: Comfy beds, efficient AC, spacious, laundry in unit, cleaned carpets.
CONS: A hidden charge to use the pool, which would have been more than $40/day. VERY disappointing for our kids. Not stocked well AT ALL for cooking, laundry, shampoo/conditioner, and toilet paper. We had to contact the management company, and they did send someone with Tide Pods and toilet paper. They say they only stock enough for your first day. What? The lobby and grounds are very nice, which is why when you get to the terrifying and stained carpets of the 6th floor hallways, you are praying your room is okay. It's a very old building with little updated. While the room was reasonably clean, the bathroom felt very dirty, the blinds were grimy and broken in many places, and the walls were marked up in many places. The kitchen doesn't have sufficient supplies to cook and only stocks salt and pepper packets with a few oil packets. No spatula, no hot pads, VERY minimal.
Overall, we simply used this as a place to eat and rest between our DC sightseeing, but it was disappointing for sure.
BIGGEST CONCERN: We reported to property management that only about 10% of the electrical outlets work. They said they would send maintenance and then told us all the receptacles were fine. Maybe they have power, but they are so old and loose nothing will stay plugged in or charge. It seems like a danger to residents of Crystal Towers and a frustration for guests.
