"Great hotel, nice clean room, luxury fittings in cosy snug with hottub. Staff great, service brilliant, nice breakfast, quality drinks. As of Aug 26 hotel undergoing refurb of outdoor spa so some building works at bottom of hotel near lake. This was told to us at time of booking and allowed to use indoor spa as gesture for slight inconvenience. Hotel is built on several levels and stairs connect levels, no lift but rooms are available on same level as reception of stairs are an issue. It is about 3 miles outside bowness (main tourist area in Windermere) so consider taxi of night or eat in hotel, we did and food and service was great. Overall a fab two night stay, quality fixtures and fittings in room and well worth an August trip to the Lakes."
