Jean was a marvelous hostess of this cozy quaint inn. Excellent communicator and very hospitable. Even did guests laundry upon request though we used laundromat 5 min down the road. Inn located about 5-10 min outside of town. Room was cozy and clean. Rates were reasonable in comparison to area lodging.

Great Place
This was a surprising find. The owner was who took care of us. Very friendly, helpful, just awsome. Rooms were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. No complaints. Would gladly stay again.

Waitsfield is a hidden gem, and this property is the icing on the cake! Very friendly & accommodating Staff. Food was excellent, and room was very clean. Certainly would book again!

Charming little BnB, with a great restaurant. Make sure you pay attention when booking your room. I accidentally booked a double bed, which made it difficult for my wife and I but that’s on me. The room was tiny and the bathroom was very basic. We had to put things under the bed and we were still stepping on our stuff. The staff was friendly and accommodated as best I could.

Not what we expected
We chose the Hyde Away because it seemed like a small, friendly place that would really cater to their guests. What we found is that they seemed uninterested in providing hospitality to us. The room was clean enough but the condition of the bathroom was in need of improvement. No housekeeping during our stay. Breakfast was included. The staff seemed inconvenienced to prepare eggs and they were overcooked. Dinner was very good but very rushed. Our meals came before we finished our appetizer. Disappointing experience.

Hi Barbara -I am sorry to hear about your experience. I must have missed you at breakfast, as I try to visit with all of our guests. This past Saturday, though, was a busy day for me as we were short staffed. Currently we do not offer daily maid service, the sign in your room said that if you had any requests please ask us. I will speak with the breakfast person and dining room manager. We use reviews such as these as educational opportunities. The bathroom in that room is next on our renovation list. If you are in the area again, we hope you may stay with us again and have a better experience.Jean

The Hyde Away was a perfect getaway for our Sugarbush ski weekend. The Innkeepers (Jean, Ana and Paul ) truly care about the facilities and service. Food is outstanding, crafts beers galore at the pub and Karen the pub manager runs a tight ship . The accommodations were extremely comfortable, and clean . Last but certainly not least the breakfast is as good as it gets ! Looking forward to going back ! DGDietz

Had specifically gone to Waitsfield to hike and bike. Hyde Away Inn was clean, simple and convenient. The hotel was extremely accommodating to a special request I had and the staff was really helpful and good. It was a great Fall getaway.

The property is old and not well maintained. The rooms are very small and not very clean. The complementary breakfast consisted of coffee and prepackaged pastry. Very expensive for what is provided! I would not recommend this property for travelers.

Older inn with a terrific restaurant!
Hyde Away Inn is a little older and our bed wasn't very comfortable, but the service was great and restaurant there had excellent food.

Our visit was very short, one night. The room was very small, but clean. The electricity set-up was a little scary, with a lot of extensions and many items plugged into the same socket. The building was very old, however, that was part of the charm. The restaurant was very good, and the staff very helpful.

Beautiful old farm house setting, nice comfortable lounge area, great breakfast included, very nice friendly staff, very clean. Very inviting everything. Water pressure was alittle low and cold hear neighboring rooms on occasion. We really enjoyed our stay!

Long weekend at the Hyde Away
We've stayed at the Hyde Away over the years while skiing at Mad River Glen. I have fond memories of what used to be "The Snuggery" during my college days at UVM. We had not stayed since the inn changed ownership a few years ago. We rented the separate house, which is spacious, updated and very comfortable. Only drawback if you have more than the four people we had staying in it would be that there is only one bathroom. Lots of snow while we were there, and my husband had to shovel as their plow had plowed us in. Breakfast is not included in the house, and in my opinion, is not worth the $10/person that they charge. Morning server is not very friendly. Ate dinner in the dining room one evening, and it was mixed. Not as consistently great as it has been in the past. Overall, still one of our favorite places to stay, but some areas could use improvement (food, service.)

Our stay overall was fine. The better aspects of the Hyde Away Inn are the attached restaurant and it’s proximity to the local small town. The decor is older but everything was clean and in fine condition. The woman I worked with for booking wasn’t overly friendly and seemed put out a little. It’s possible that they were short staffed and so she might have just been dealing with that. They weren’t able to do breakfast in the morning because of being short staffed so she gave us vouchers for a place 1 mike up the road to have breakfast. That place was Mad Barn Inn and the owner and staff there was extremely friendly. If we were in that area again, we would stay at the Mad Barn Inn. It was just a better feeling B&B experience over there, with gorgeous grounds, nice decor, and super friendly staff (and a dog onsite:-)). The restaurant at Hyde Away was quaint and we would recommend it. We would stay at the Inn again if needed but would prefer to check out other lodging options if we were in that area.

At the Hyde Away
Hyde Away, named for the original owners, is a hybrid accommodation experience. Hotel rates w/ a hostel vibe. My room was dorm style, sharing a bathroom w/ room across the hall. This worked fine for my purposes as the other room was vacant during my stay. Not sure I'd choose this during peak season. This being said, it's cozy, staff are friendly and breakfast is included. My room was over the bar, which didn't bother as I was out from wake to sleep, though if one is not a night owl or is a light sleeper, well don't take rooms over bars. No complaints w/ the Hyde Away. While my first choice is to stay w/ friends while in vt, I would stay here again.

It was basically dormitory style lodging, which I did not expect from what i read in my last minute reservation made on line. The staff and food were very good, The room was clean but drafty and the water was hard. Price would have been OK for what i received if I had another guest with me.

A wonderful classic Vermont Ski Inn!
The Hyde Away is a exceptional Vermont ski lodge! It provides an affordable sleeping set-up, with excellent food & I even got to enjoy some local music in the pub as a bonus after a great day on the slopes! The breakfast that came with the package was local, tasty & the perfect way to power up before enjoying an amazing day of fresh powder at Mad River Glen!

Family trip for a long weekend
Beautiful rustic inn in peaceful Vermont mountains. Well preserved and very charming. Lots of room for a family (we stayed in a biggest suit). The lounge area is a great place to relax after busy day of hiking or skiing. Super friendly service. The only small complain is for some road noise in the bedrooms. The building is very close to route 17 and few passing cars could be heard well in the otherwise very quiet rooms. I think it is the only suit with windows facing the road. Again, very small issue. Simply nothing else even to mention. Overall very pleasant stay. Thank you!

Great hotel for hikers.
Stayed here with my husband who was hiking the long trail. He was able to do his laundry on site and they even had extra clothing for him to wear while he was washing his. They have two rooms that allow dogs for. A $20 fee. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

We loved the fireplace room. It was very comfortable and clean. The owner was really friendly ,accommodating, and helpful. She also makes a fantastic breakfast! The bar was very lively at night and a great place to go after sking. We ate dinner there also and the food was delicious. Cant wait to go back.

Beautiful retreat
This truly a little gem hidden away in the mountains. The drive to get here was amazing. Not too far from the Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory and Tour.

The fotos of the room was a fake.Not real big and no pool for the childrens. So expensive only for sleep.Is more like a motel.I have 27 years working in the industry of service and for that reason I expect more for the price.Its I nice place but not a Hotel.

Stayed at the Hyde Away to visit with my son during family weekend at his school. The place was clean, comfortable & family friendly. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food was excellent.

Netter Platz mit Restaurantbetrieb, allerdings nur sehr kleines Zimmer, welches auch noch mit zusätzlichen Stapelbetten vollgestellt war. Durch die Lage an eines befahrenen Straße war es sehr laut. Gutes Frühstück.

Très beau weekend !!
Nous sommes allés à un show de vielles voitures à Bristol. Vraiment beau weekend. Nous avons pris le temps de nous promener en vielle voiture toute la journée du samedi. Vraiment très beau, beaux paysages dans les montagnes. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce beau coin du Vermont.
