I had a delightful stay at La Maison hotel in Petra. The location was perfect, just a 2-minute walk from the Petra visitor center, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the ancient city. The buffet was excellent, offering a variety of delicious options. Moreover, the concierge and bellman were exceptionally friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Petra.

I chose this hotel for the price and location, next to the Petra Visitor Center (entrance to the archeological site). Lobby was nice but the room was disappointing, overlooking an abandoned empty lot (no view at all, and with small beds.

Clean and excellently placed hotel

A great hotel very close to the main entrance to the Petra archeological park. A very clean hotel with updated rooms, a really nice shower and a great lobby. The gentleman at the front desk was super willing to help me convert my USD to JOD and help me book tickets to the Petra at Night experience. There are multiple restaurants, shops and souvenir stores within an easy walking distance to the hotel. The only "bad" thing is that it seems like the walls of the rooms are a little thin so I was able to follow along to the song that the people in the room next to me were listening to beginning at 0700 every morning.

This place has many advantages- great location, right near the entrance to Petra, excellent breakfast and dinner buffets, friendly staff, and spacious rooms. On the downside, the walls and doors are paper thin, making it hard to sleep when there is noise in the hallway. There is also no fitted sheet on the bed, so the sheet covering the mattress ends up moving around a lot. Overall though, a pleasant stay.

Unfortunately our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The hotel was extremely basic and the food provided as part of the buffet and also in our breakfast box was literally inedible. I received a rotten orange and cucumber, accompanied by a roll filled with what resembled devon or some kind of processed meat. The fish served at the buffet appeared raw and did not seem fit for human consumption. Would not recommend.

Budget hotel option close to Petra

It’s a fairly basic, mediocre hotel, but an incredibly convenient location to the Petra Visitor Centre with free parking. The room is very basic, and our double bed was just two singles pushed together with a sheet over top. The water pressure in the shower was fairly low, and with the window being single pane glass, you will likely be woken up by the early AM call to prayer unless you’re a very heavy sleeper. The a/c was good and there’s a little fridge that does get your bottled water nice and cold. We only had breakfast there, and the buffet was a little lacklustre, but serviceable if you just need a quick bite before setting off for the day. The majority of the restaurants are about a 20 min walk further up the hill, but if your priority is proximity to the entrance of Petra at a budget price, then this is a good option for you. And you can always pop into the Movenpick a few doors down for a cold beer on the way back from Petra.
